OK...I put in my order...I have this "chemical" stain that dripped from my back windshield wiper. I've tried everything except clay, and nothing seems to budge the stain. "clay" better do the work.
So work it until your fingers go numb.
And BTW...whatcha gonna do if it don't work? Sounds like you made a little threat there at the end. I don't respond well to threats

Yeah sounds like you're putting a lot of faith in something that may not even be the solution! The chemical stain you are referring to will only come out if it's on the surface and bonded to the paint. If it's actually stained the paint as in the case below with the PW--which is actually a different though related issue--claybar won't fix the problem. A machine buffing is the only solution-- to remove the layer of stained paint.
PW stains incredibly easy. It doesn't take much to get those "permanent" brown stains. It could happen by driving through contaminanted water that splashes on the paint, or in my case, by simply attaching a VacuCam moistened with Quik Detailer for a day. A chemical reaction between the rubber and the Quik Detailer causes bad things to happen to the paint that no other paint exhibits.
Fellow NAMer anathema had the same issue on his PW/PW when we detailed his MINI. We tag-teamed the spot and clayed until the cows came home, put on their house coats and retired for the night. It was much much better by the time we ran out of gumption, but still slightly yellow. You had to get right up on it though to see it whereas before it was as visible as a pimple on your forehead on prom night.
So work it until your fingers go numb.

Oh...and thanks for sharing your tidbit about your experience...I'll keep that in mind.
OctaneGuy, if what you say is true, then I have some serious buffing to do.

I guess my consolulation out of all this is getting a good deal on my first clay bar.
Hey, Heather... Do you guys have a refill size jug o' the Slick that I can order with my clay? I'm about halfway through the spray bottle size I have (I used it on a few cars during the recent Winterization Party we had) and I'm trying to plan ahead (for a change).
A liter or 2-liter size for refilling the spray bottle or (even better) a concentrate would be IDEAL. I really love the Slick on top of the Epic, hoo-boy.

allenski- we're just kidding around.
don't think too hard of
each post and just enjoy reading and detailing your ride.
i was
about to recommend you sand paper originally.
i too
think it's probably stained your paint. most-likely will need to be
polished out.

I'm confused how did I threaten you?

Here is more info on the refill:Prima Slick (click!)
A concentrate is a nice idea... that way we could keep the container small and light for shipping. Something we'll have to investigate further in the future.
At least with the current clay free ship deal, you can ship the giant jug o' Slick free!
I'm glad you're enjoying the Slick so much! It's pretty, well, slick, isn't it??

Yowtch... the gallon jug IS a bit dear... let me know if you do the concentrate thing though - I'd definitely be interested in such a solution.
Look for my DP review today or tomorrow - I think 5 weeks of constant rain followed by cleaning is a fair assessment. Just working on my final edit now...

Also, remember that each gallon jug equals 8 regular (16oz) bottles. Quite a price break that way! Even still, I know it's alot all at once! We may bottle it in a quart size sometime next year for a more "middle of the road" size.
Looking forward to your reviews!
No question - it's a GREAT deal and will last a loooong time... Half that size would be perfect for us "non pro" users, though in case you're marketing Mad Scientists are ever needing feedback on new packaging.
Maybe I can get someone local to split it with me... Hmmmm....

ok, tried out the new PrimaClay.
I took about 1/4 size off the bar
and place the remaining 3/4 into a fresh container.
My initial feeling is that the clay is much drier than the Mother's clay, but
not hard or stiff. It is soft and easy to work with. when you knead it, it
tends to pull apart. Not necessarily a bad thing as it is easy to shape into
a silver dollar sized disc. Unlike Mother's clay which tends to get brittle
in colder temps (my garage is at 50F right now) the Prima clay which was
left in the garage for a good 2hrs prior did not get that hard.
Since most of you will be using various QD, i used SpeedShine this time to
see how well it works with other brand QD's than Prima. it is by far easier
to use than Griot's sticky clay blob. i used a ton of QD but it did not get
mushy or gooy like Griots (i hate how Griots clay melts in my hands and
not in my mouth
)
PrimaClay is definitely a thumbs up.
Thanks again, heather for introducing us to another nice product!
ps: Prima Slick smells so good... wow!
Heather, you should
make your own perfume line.

Little known fact: Prima Slick is made out of the blood from that Predator dude who kicked Arnold's a** in the movie. It's true - look at the colour. That's the reason they don't come round here much any more.
