I just used ICE for the first time last night. Wow! It's more than just nice, it's great. I don't care if it washes off after one wash because it's so quick and easy to use.
I wonder if it's your detergent choice that's washing the ICE off so quickly. What are you using for soap?

If you are referring to me, I use the Mr. Clean soap that is to be used with the Mr. Clean Autodry system.

That stuff is nasty, in my opinion.

car wash. It's nice and soft on the paint, its not harsh but cleans well. I buy it at Costco, its like $9/gallon. I can't really say how long the Ice lasts. I only wash my car about once a month. After I wash the Meguires Gold Class soap off, I spray the car with either Eagle One Wax As You Dry or NXT Speed detailer, they both work about equally as good, then I dry the car with micro fiber. I also clean it up almost every day with one of those products as well. It only takes about 10 minutes and its good exercise. So my car is always getting some protection on it. I also use the Gold Class to wash my black Pro Race 1's once a week. I use the Ice before going somewhere special and I need Penta to look extra nice.

I've used NXT in the past, and just tried ICE. Nice!!! Both leave a brilliant shine and glassy feel. I think that NXT might have hid the 'swirlies' on my Cosmos Black paint a *bit* better, but that might even out after a few applications.

The main thing I liked about it was it was *so* nice not having to mask or keep extra attention to detail using ICE! I even used it on all of the black trim, and it looks at least as good as Mothers Back to Black!

I'd post pics, but my camera battery is apparently dead. I should be able to post tomorrow!

Being able to use the ICE on all the bits is a big plus. Makes the wheel well surrounds look brand new without being shiny and even works better than Armor-All on the tires.

Update on the Mr. Clean stripping ICE debate. I washed my truck last night and afterwards It seemed like the ICE was gone. If I ran my finger across the paint, it screached loudly like all that was there was paint. It was not smooth like when the ICE was on. However, today with all the rain, my car is beading like crazy. So, I guess the ICE is still on there. It should be since I've used it 3 times on a truck I just bought 2 weeks ago. Anyway, I love ICE, but I will reserve final judgement until I know for sure of its lasting ability.

I waxed with NXT 1-1/2 months ago. I use the Mr Clean System every week to wash & my NXT is still going strong. So if the Ice washes off it isn't the fault of the Mr Clean it is that the Ice doesn't hold up as well (at least as well as the NXT). Keep us posted. I may try the Ice since it won't turn the black bits

I used it, it stripped everything off. I was just glad it left the paint behind! Never again will I use it.

Update, I washed both my Wifes MC and my truck this morning. Both seem to still have water beading even after using Mr. Clean. I have decided to stop using Mr. Clean however. Today I skipped the auto dry filter rinse step and simply sheeted the water off the car with the hose water barely running. After sheeting 90% of the water is gone, so all it took was a quick once over with 2 microfiber towels and voila'. I'm tired of buying that damn soap and filters all the time. Anyway, ICE still seems to be hanging in there. I even applied it to my trucks wheels to see if it will help make cleaning the brake dust easier.

Maybe you should try a more durable wax. I have been using the Mr Clean for over 17 months. My Mini looks great & it is so quick & easy

What is this fascination with microfibre? Doesn't anybody use a chamois anymore?

mf you can basically just use it like a regular towel. no pre-wetting,
no fuss washing that slimy feeling camois when it gets dirty... mf
cleans up real nice and easy.... like a regular towel.

plus, no rotting and don't need to kill a camel just to make a couple of
towels.

I wouldn't call Meguires Gold Class "generic car wash".

At $9/Gal. it would be a lot cheaper then buying body wash or bar soap.
