Banana gloss on top of Hydro Seal

How long should I wait to apply Banana Gloss over Hydro Seal?

Assuming you've taken all the excess hydro seal off then you can apply it right after that

Mostly related to this question thread-

I like a shining coat over Hydro Seal.
I just ran out of Epic... should I go back to Banana Gloss or get more Epic?
I use Hydro Seal a few times per year, after the spray wash that I use regularly (at least once per week)

How long would Hydro Seal hold up when using that 'Step 1' slippery chemical is that removes just about anything from the car before the high pressure soap stage is engaged? I suspect it may remove the Hydro Seal, so maybe I should use it more often.
Would Banana Gloss help it stay sealed? Would Epic?
Which of those two, over Hydro Seal, would have my Hot Chocolate paint looking the best? My car has a lot of easy indoor time with occasional forays out into the Michigan snow and elements.
Any advice would be appreciated :-)

Get more Epic. It provides the longest lasting protection of all the Prima products. Put banana gloss and seal on top if you like, but after your polish, Epic should go right on top, IMO, for the best long-term protection.

banana gloss is a carnuba blend so it doesn't hold up nearly as long as any of your other options. hydro is a polymer synthetic hydro seal is a polymer synthetic, BG won't take it off, neither will the spray wash you are using. Epic is going to hold up longer than any of these. I have a BRG mini and apply finish, amigo, epic, hydro seal, banana gloss and dry with hydro after every wash (every wash possible). lasts me 4-6 months in Philadelphia in my daily driver. speaking of which, I'm due so I'll post photos on my next detail. I have some swirls to remove from the boot.

Unless you have nearly perfect paint, I hope you meant you start with Finish after you go at it with Swirl or Cut/Swirl.

On most MINI paints, I've found a 60/40 mix of Swirl/Cut is perfect to begin the polishing process. Then I go with Amigo.... don't find adding Finish to have any added benefit over just using Amigo as my fine polish step.

If you don't have swirls or your paint is in good shape, you won't need swirl/finish.

My steps are...if not correcting paint swirls

Amigo
Epic
Banana Gloss

Hydro Spray at every wash!

I have been in two MINI clubs fir several years. I've been to several MOTDs. I've literally seen thousands of MINIs. And I have yet to see one that. had near perfect paint unless it just came out of the factory or had just been completely detailed.

If you have had your MINI more than a few months and don't think you need a polish more abrasive than Amigo or Finish, you just aren't looking close enough.

Of course, most MINI owners aren't after a near perfect paint condition. So if your goal is to have a MINI that looks really good to all but the most discerning eyes, no worries!
