Water Spots on Glass - HELP

Water Spots on Glass - HELP

Purchased 2012 Mini S - Unfortunately it had been sitting on the dealers lot for 10+ Months. The sunroof and windshield have heavy water spots that I can't get off. Any help would be appreciated.

They can be a real *****, can't they?

Try using a clay bar on them. Ever used one?

How about some of that CLR bathroom cleaner?
That gets water spots off my granite countertop.

Vinegar and Mr clean magic eraser. Wet glass with vinegar and let it set for a few minutes or seconds and rub it off with magic eraser. I just cleaned my patio table that's been spotted from sprinklers for several months.

Mothers also makes a water spot remover for glass now as well.

This would be my first choice. If you have some Prima Swirl on hand, I would put some on a terry painters rag and polish them by hand. That works very well as well.

Here is an example of cleaning with vinegar and a painters towel (no Mr. Clean needed)

Vinegar works really good. The acids and its ph level loosen up the deposits. Correct you don't have to use magic eraser. You can use a rag or whatever you've got handy, I used the eraser because my wife had it in her hand at the time.

Soak the towel in vinegar and place it on the calcium deposits. Might need to rub it depending on how much scale there is. Might have to shear off some layers before you get to the paint. The rougher towel is just to get some bite. Might a e to change to a MF towel as you get closer to the surface. Water spots are either calcium deposits or etchings that cannot be dissolved and need a different course of action.

THIS.

I did a used Honda Accord for a client this summer that looked like it lived it's entire life outside and had never seen the clean side of a wash mitt. I used some Swirl with a foam applicator and with a bit elbow grease the spots came off. I'll have to try the terry cloth instead next time if that works better.
