Oooh, Hydro the floor for a little sock hockey action. That's a good idea. Plus it'll really mess with the dogs' minds. They'll be slip slidin' all over the place.

Is it just me or is it getting a little warm in here?

It's not just you

p.s... William I will give you that NXT does do a "good" job, IMHO it's far from superb though. I started out with NXT when I first got the MINI & thought it was great but that was long before I learned about the far superior detailing products on the market. You oughta give Epic a try if you are happy enough with the shine a synthetic wax gives you. If you are only going to do one step & forgo properly prepping your paint then Epic can be applied & will look as good or better than NXT & Epic doesn't mar your black bits. Now if you really wanna make that chili red pop, let me introduce you to my little friend Mr. Carnauba

I just spoke to my contact at meguiars. There is a new 21 (dam i just bought another bottle too) it lasts longer and easier to use. I would give it a try over NXT 2.0.

Hmm.. I'll have to see when I can get the NXT my mini.. But with all the talk about epic and hydro.. I may just have to take that red pill (matrix reference) to see what you guys see..

After all, I wont be able to truly appreciated epic and hydro until I try something not as good first. Now when is the next sale at Detailers Paradise?

And since I'm here, does anyone know how to keep the boot clean? I've been told mud guards wont help much. A huge rear wing spoiler might because the dirt is from the vortex of air formed behind the mini.. Thoughts?

If the boot is a little dusty, QD it. If the boot is more than a little dusty, wash it. After many years, and 10s of thousands of miles, that is what most of us here have figured out

Tried the Carnauba before the NXT. It's good but I honestly don't think it's better than NXT. My car, an 03 Cooper, sits outside all the time and still looks showroom fresh That is when it stops raining here in "Sunny" California Don't know about prepping. I just wash, wax and detail it. So far so good. My theory is while the multi step guys are claying and applying steps 1-2-3-4 etc, I'm out motoring Not that there's anything wrong going the muti step route, I'm a great believer in everybody doing what makes them happy Thanks for the tip on Epic though, may have to give that a try

I dunno what to say except enjoy your motoring but you really can't give a realistic comparison of any wax to any wax when you are just slathering it on without proper paint preparation. Carnauba definitely takes more work & is not indicated for those who wash, wax, & go. You really should give Epic a try though to save you from marring & cleaning your black bits.

::Tip:: If you ever see me out don't park your chili red next to my carnauba'd chili red because they won't even look like they are the same color & that could result in you getting bitten by the detailing bug. It's a nasty infection & one that is incurable

I'm envious of your chili red, with pure silver I've tried many different types of waxes and you just don't get that difference like with dark colours and especially red. Carnauba kinda warms the paint . I have that same nasty infection and am interested in that victoria red wax you talk about. It's just a ferry ride away from me, scary.

I agree mini44, on a lighter or lighter metallic color I don't think you will get much of a noticeable difference when using a carnauba vs using a synthetic. If my MINI were lighter I think I would not bother with carnauba & having to reapply it monthly I would go the Epic wax - Hydro wax as you dry every few washes route or Klasse AIO topped with Klasse Sealant Glaze. On dark colors I like the depth of shine like a carnauba provides but on lighter I would go for a shiney shine (but that's just me ).

But don't let me dissuade you from trying the Victoria wax cause I have never had so much fun waxing the MINI as I did when using it
