Must be winter, quiet here

@ motoron.
ML-wow that sounds cool. i was looking at the config and the 'learn more' or watever page and it really doesn't do much as far as trying to see wat one's getting. i wanted to see more interior picts and it only has like 4 picts and 2 of them are like close ups of the MINI logo and maybe the back of the headrest or something useless.

(there's 26 more photos where that came from, and 2 window stickers for in stock Hot Chocolate Metallic Automatic Transmission 2010 Clubmans!)
Motoron- huh, is that at the Knauz site? I didn't look there, only the miniusa.com site.
I donno, I still don't get the Wooo~! Factor looking at the picts. I think they look nice when well equipped, but I don't feel the attraction I usually get for cars that I really like. (But this might be a good thing for dd's).

Here's the photos, and remember this is a car that's gonna be in your drive way since it's a DD.

was planning on taking a sick day today since im still not feeling well, but my hand muscle is sore from all the piano playing over the weekend so decided to come to work anyway... since it was kinda painful to play piano this am.

I got to wash and Hydro the wifey's car and the MINI yesterday. Used warm water in the buckets which made things a lot more tolerable. (T was in low 40s.)
sounds good, ofioliti.
i use thick rubber gloves (just ordinary rubber house gloves) when washing in colder weather. helps ALOT.
yah, it wouldve suck just sitting at home looking at my piano yet can't play it.
i actually pulled out my old synthesizer from the basement and played that last night cause the keys are very light on those keyboards and i didnt have to press hard at all to play = less pain.

dog damnit, my 15% oil life indicator is on on my FitS... which means i need to replace the oil or the car.

nono, im just going to drive some more until it gets warmer. no use ruining a new car in salt prematurely. i might be in the negative life % by that time...

Doing the maths on "business days"; I'm starting to develop a little habit of kenchan package checking lately. MINI parts on the way and I'd like them installed before this weekend's little journey.
yah, i think the earliest im going to swap my dd is late this fall or next year.
i still want to see in person wat the tsx sport-wagon is going to look like.
it's scheduled to be released this fall.

Hey
Been away a few days... driving mega miles on business. Another nasty Blimey. Time for another bath. Really needs a full detail but don't know when that will happen. grrrrr.
You guys seen the Countryman pics? Whatcha think? Regardless of whatcha think, a Countryman JCW or JCW Rally Edition is gonna be my next DD.
Might need an airbag suspension, though...

Any Advice?
Yep, it's that time of year! I was ready to take Rupert out today, and in came freezing rain! Very disappointing!
But it won't be long...
A couple of quick questions, as you all seem pretty knowledgeable...
I've seen discussion about Waxes for wheels, to prevent brake dust pitting. Are you familiar with "wheel dust covers"? Available from Moss... wondering whether they are worth the cost ($39.95 pair), or whether I should just stick to a wax.
And the clear plastic light protectors?
I'm getting very anxious to take Rupert on the road. I got him the end of July, and put him inside in November... Wisconsin weather doesn't bother me, but the fear of other drivers sure does! And I need to get him a new set of winter shoes, too.
I prefer paper catalogues but have only found 2 so far - Atlantic British and Moss. Any other ideas?
Also, just discovered a Mini magazine! They have a subscription special now until Monday - hoping it will keep me "fixed" until Rupert is ready to roll!http://www.mc2magazine.com/
Manitowoc isn't so far - I'm SE of LaCrosse.
Thanks! And I apologize if I've butted in on a post that I should not have.

NetraLee, first welcome to the detailing forum
. There are no bad questions, but you may have to sift through some bad answers.

The track and performance junkies will tell you never to use the dust covers because they impede the loss of heat from the brake discs (rotors). But for just daily city driving I would think they won't cause problems.
Personally, I don't look like them because they just don't look nice on the wheels. I wax the wheels.
The best solution to the brake dust problem is to use brake pads that produce less dust (ceramic pads, for example). In general, the less dust, the less the stopping power though. But again, if you are not into high performance driving, the cermic pads should be OK. I lived with the original pads and their dust till they were used up---I should have switched over earlier.
Back to detailing .... my car is dirty and needs a bath.

my silver one, not so bad.
