I filled up my MINI a few days ago for less than $30 and it took over 13 gallons (had 8 miles left on the OBC miles-to-empty readout).

Not too long ago, I was spending $58 for a tank.

$2.19 a gallon here for 93 Octane.

I'm loving the gas prices as well and have experienced the same. Since I was filling up 3 times a week at the worst..$50+ gas fillups weren't fun. Course now that my engine is running on 4 cylinders and not leaking fuel or oil--I'm back to getting 340 miles a tank now--so twice a week filling is enough, and at the lower prices--it certainly brings a smile to my face.

I was in Jacksonville Florida a couple days ago, and super was under $2 there---lowest octane was like $1.70. Crazy.

Just realized this thread is one year old...11/28/07.

Today looks like sunny and last day to motor this holiday weekend. Going to pull out my MCS in 30.

cleaned up my music room today using speedshine and platinum MF towel.

yep, that's an authentic iMac in the pict. wife bought it for me
like 8yrs ago. my music stuff is like 8, some up to 20yrs old. but
it still sounds sweeet. i think this winter im going to spend
some time composing again. haven't done so in a long time.

wife's moving out from my music room pretty soon and going to do an office
for her in the 2nd floor so finally i get my room back in about a month.. yaay.

i took away about 3/4th of the stuff i have and simplified.

yah, i use to make music all the time as a hobby when i was
younger. after getting married things have slowed down a little...
then with this car hobby slowed down even more.

if things go well using the simple system shown above and can
compose new tracks that i can appreciate i think im going to get
their (Roland) latest workstation which has all the bells and
whistles and just redo my entire workstation. but that
might mean no new car for a few more years.

going to motor my FitS in 5.

Hey Ken, do you use your FitS as a family car (meaning do you drive your kids around in it)? Just wondering cuz Dave and I checked one out at the auto show last week and we thought it could be a decent family car five years from now..

So do you compose music? Or play other peoples stuff? I had to break down my music studio years ago when I moved and never set it back up again--my keyboards are in storage and my rack equipment is just gathering dust--all MINI components from the 80's and 90's.

Is that a Mackie mixer in the rack? I've got their 16 channel..1602 I think it was.

Yep, I compose music. And good eye, that is a 1602 (I think I don't remember ). I put the rack mount ears yesterday.

Removed all the racks I'm not going to be needing. New workstations these days have inputs so I may not even need the mixer down the road. The Fantom has SPID/F out so might use that during the next session.

Care to share some music samples?? Or do you have any online? I posted some of my songs awhile back in mp3. My setup consisted of a Yamaha C1/20 workstation transportable as the MINI center. 8 independently addressable outputs 2 ins and a through.

Here's a song I wrote back in 1991 or so. Mostly ambient/new age stuff.

Performed on a Roland keyboard with Korg and Yamaha sound modules.

hey your music sounds good.

i had samples uploaded at the cd replication place a while ago
(like 12yrs ago) but their site is long gone.

i looked at the mackie. it's 1604... very good guess though!

finally back from the mall... wheew. did some shopping at sears hardware
to get some of those plastic socket holders to clean up my 3/8" drives
a bit more. not much else going on with tools at the moment. i
checked out Dewalt's cordless impact. it's definitely a nice size.
milwaukee has a similar one so i think im going to get the milwaukee so
that my batteries are all compatible.

Haha thanks! I had all my songs on either DAT or MD, and just a few years ago got the optical cables to make digital transfers to my computer. I was big on MD when it first came out before CD burners were so cheap.

Re: Mackie
Aw yeah, I thought it stood for 16 channels and 4 Busses I think. I forgot. Anyway, cool!

Funny. I have a Tascam DA30, before the MkII came out. Maybe we should compare equipment too? It's like modding. My first MIDI computer was an IBM PC with an MPU-IPC adaptor. I was running Twelve Tone Systems Cakewalk..in DOS.

Yeah I can't believe how much time has passed. For me, it's been like two decades, lol.

So what's the deal with the CD Replication company?? A CD for sale??? lol.

cakewalk....my brother use to use that software. my sequence
software was cubase on a classic2. actually, i still have the
computer in my basement. in the iMac, there is cubaseVST
installed...but no audiocard expability so no digital recording on it.
i have both the MOTU original and firewire MIDI interfaces.

i used a 7100 with digidesigns audiomedia card with sounddesigner
with shells, emagic-audio to do the mastering. wow, amazing i even
remember. well, it's sitting like 10ft behind me so i can cheat.
yep, i released a vanity cd over a decade ago.

after wife and i put our kids to bed last night, i actually sat down
infront of my keyboard and took out the wrinkle-free 'new' quick-start
owner's manual printed in 2001, read, and played with my keyboard.
wow, there are SO MANY functions i didn't know about on the fantom.
going to take this week to read the main manual cover to cover.

haven't played for so long my hand felt slow and sluggish like a
buick. and when i played faster passages, my fingers stumbled like
a pos yaris. but amazing how my hand still remembered so
many cord progressions like riding a bicycle.

had to brum off the snow this am along with scraping the glass
on the FitS before going to work. not fun.

my usual 25min commute took almost an hr. i didn't see
any accidents so that's good. im super happy that i upgraded
the stereo several weeks ago. at least i had good music inside
the car.
