Working on my new attire for the Dragon
Had a friend better than I at Photoshop 'convert' a photo of my MINI a while back that I now use in my Sig. I spent a lot of time cleaning that up further to reduce the amount of detail in the pic. I just had the jpg version digitized into a format for my Ma's embroidery sewing machine by a service bureau. Below is the simulated preview of how the file should 'sew out'.
This morn I'm sending the file up to Dad to download to a flash card and take to her machine.
I can't wait to see how it comes out. It'll be about 3.5 inches wide and I'm having her try it on some Polo shirts. She's never embroidered on knit before so it's all experimental.

Thanks. I try to keep her supplied with various stablizers, it's one easy Xmas gift! I'd guess one of the heavier ones for knit?
Hats are tricky, and hard to 'hoop' without special gear. She has a simple inexpensive machine. But for a hat she might be able to do it as a patch. I know that's not the right term they use for a emboidered item thats cut out and sewn on. But ya know what I mean.

Can't wait to see it Mark
Are going to get ones done for the boat, van, riding mower?

Boat absolutely...That's next after I clean up or redo a line drawing I have of a Westerly Cirrus. The van no. The JCW mower & snow plow I'd say no. But it'd be pretty funny to do a counterfiet MINI shirt, but not at the expense! Having a design digitized to a embroidery control file isn't cheap.

Ta Dah!
Well, picked up the shirt today and I'm happy as a MINI on a curve.
It came out great and looks pretty much like the simulation created by the digitizing software. I'm amazed at the amount of detail that is there.
Edit: Just redid the second pic, don't think the first was very sharp/

Thanks all, I'll pass the compliments on to Mom (and Dad, he helps her out)
She's considering it. In VERY small quanities. Of course the design I have now has MY wheels and the aero kit. For this one I paid $ to a company to convert it for sewing and they did a great job. They did some hand work to enhance things that I know weren't done automatically. There is software available to home convert a bitmap for embroidery though it still takes a fair bid of fiddling at this point. But it would be the only way to semi affordably deal with a couple different designs.
I'm not sure if a good number of people would be interested in a 'generic' if we did one of those as long as the colors matched, and how many would only be interested if it were THEIR car, down to wheels, bonnet stripes vs not etc.
But I'm thrilled with mine!
