[Sat, Mar 24] DCMM Annual Business Meeting After MoS Breakfast

This is our main planning meeting for the year. It is very important that as many members as possible attend. We'll be talking about where we want to see the club go in 2007, our current financial state, future financial projections, and event plans for the year. We will also review 2006 – a big year for the club in the business end. We will review our incorporation status, tax status, banking status and all that other good stuff

The meeting will follow breakfast that morning at MINI of Sterling VA. Since one of our favorite things to do is eat - we can go right from breakfast to lunch with each other

This is a member’s only event. Not sure if you are a current member? – check your membership card for the expiration date. If you need to renew, please do so before the meeting at www.dcmetrominis.org

The terms of three of the seven members of Board of Directors will be expiring this year. In addition, Tom has requested to leave the Board. This means we will be electing four members to serve on the Board for a two year term

Continuing on the Board for the second year of a two- year term are:

Kurt – currently Secretary
Sam – currently Member at Large
Dave – currently Member at Large

Leaving the Board as the two year terms are ending are:

myself
Sherill (who took an open position until the annual meeting)
Haemish (term is ending)

Leaving the Board as a resignation effective after the annual meeting

Tom

Both Sherill and Haemish intended to run for reelection. If you have any interest in running for a DCMM Board Position, or if you would like to nominate somebody for a Board Position, please send me an email to president@dcmetrominis.org. Nominations need to be in by March 10 so they can be posted and ballots created.

Location: Buffalo Wing Factory
www.buffalowingfactory.com
43761 Parkhurst Plaza
Ashburn, VA 20147
(703) 729-4200

Time: approximately 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. We will start the business meeting at noon

Food? Yes, and no cost to members.
There will be an all-we-can-eat buffet of buffalo wings and pizza
Soft drinks, iced tea, coffee, and hot tea are included.

Alcoholic drinks may be purchased using cash or credit cards

Please RSVP with number of members attending on the DCMM calendar. We need to have firm numbers one week in advance. Therefore, you need to RSVP no later than Saturday, March 17

...or you can use the link under both MININurse and JustJAY's signature, which takes you directly to the DCMM Calendar.

Edit: Doh! Bull30 beat me to it!

Ah, well in that case it's listed under the breakfast. Didn't really notice that myself I just clicked the thing that wasn't AMVIV. Not exactly sure why AMVIV is on the DCMM calendar...

Did you look at March's calendar? It is there, and there is the little link that says I will be attending this event. Just click that and you will be added.

Here is the link to March's Calendar page

Just as a reminder that there are other events than the Dragon out there.

Marina,

On February 1st, Mark Ferguson sent a PM out to all active NAM members (i.e. those who had visited the site in the past few months) to notify them of some upcoming changes, including how Signature images are handled.

The PM was titled: "Forum Reorganization and Signature Changes"

Also, a reminder was posted on February 13 by dave in Site Feedback: "Reminder | February 18th | Signature Changes".

The changes took effect this past Sunday, February 18.

Basically, only one signature image is permitted, and it has to fall within the 500x100 pixel and 30K limits stated in the guidelines. Also, it cannot be inserted into your signature text, it has to be uploaded. Take a look at the post and/or PM for details.

it's ok, cuz I will be motoring up to the boston area, so that should be fun!

Just wanted to put a reminder out there about this meeting. It will be after the breakfast at Sterling and all active(dues paid) members are welcome to join us. This is THE MEETING to not miss. We will be electing new board members, and discussing what we want to do in the coming year.
ALL active members are welcome to join us, so come on!
RSVP on the calendar so we can let the Wing Factory know so we have enough food prepared for everyone

Those interested in running need to submit names by Saturday please. We take nominations from the floor as well - however the person nominated must be present and must accept the nomination.

Currently five people have stepped forward expressing interest:

CmdrVimes (Matt)
MININurse (Stacey)
JustJay (Jaysen)
Sagworks (Sherill)
Edge (Haemish)

We have four openings to fill (mine, Tom's, Sherill's, Haemish's).

We will announce the results of the elections for the adoption of the new bylaws at the meeting. Currently, few members have voted but it is running 100% toward approval. Voting closes at midnight on March 23rd. All the information is posted on our website www.dcmetrominis.org and was sent to members via the February newsletter.

I have made the RSVP call to the restaurant. If you did not RSVP in time, please contact me directly via email president@dcmetrominis.org and I will see what I can do.

Thank you to the members who did RSVP - you will have the chance to vote on the Board for 2007/2008 and help plan what happens in the club next year.

Bring your thinking caps and ideas to the meeting as well. I have a list of run/event ideas that people have posted, but we always want more! So we can have a good brainstorming session for future events

Guys, I'm sorry but I won't be able to make the meeting. Mom had a tough time in the hospital post surgery, so she has to stay in longer than everyone thought.
They're still not sure when she'll be coming home, but this Thursday was mentioned. We'll see as her condition changes daily.
So, I'm gonna stay here in Pgh. longer than I had planned, hence I won't be at the meeting.
Can I vote via email?

No, you cannot. The three people already mentioned in this post have decided to run. Nominations from the floor will only be accepted if the person nominated is there to accept the nomination and the motion is seconded.
