DC Members interested in the MINICup?

Howdy everyone,

Krut expressed some interest in participating in our 3rd MINICup: The Run to the Dragon. Im trying to figure out exactly how I can involve Krut and any other people from DC that want to do our event, it would just make it easier if I know an approximate number of people that would be interested.

So if your interested please let me know so I can figure this all out.

Thanks

All because that silly wife of yours decided to get pregnant , and that whole moving to Guam deal.

Back on topic - I will not be in attendance of the run down, I'm not even sure if I can go right now :(. But even if I could, I don't think I'd drive north to drive 8hours south.

Actually the wife being pregnant has nothing to do it... Kind of like Hapa last year, who left Paige at home pregnant to attend MOTD.

I got permission from Betty to go, it would just be wrong of me to when there's so much to take care of during that timeframe.

Im trying to figure out how I can get everyone started from DC. I don't expect you to drive to Philly to drive back down south

Why not have a rally point? Philly peeps take off at X time, and DCMM is waiting for them a couple hours down the road...? Best rally point in my mind would be some point west of DC, either on 66W or 81S... So that the Philly peeps don't have to drive through DC, and all the DC'ers will be on the right side of the DC for heading towards the Dragon.

When I led my group of DCMM'ers last year, we met at Denny's in Virginia off 66W at like 5am so that we arrived @ Fontanna with daylight.

I am definitely "interested" in the rally, it sounds crazy fun... but one factor will depend on whether or not I find a copilot to assist.

I might not be able to drive to/on the dragon because my parents are sketchy right now. But if I could arrange co-piloting the weekend, anychance I could fill that passengers seat?

I'm interested too but i will be coming from NY this year so i would actually meet and start with the Philly folk. I too am not sure if i will have a co-pilot as i don't think Page and the baby (would be about 9 month old then) would be up for such a trip just yet.

Sorry, this is iggy not Ralph. I didn't bother to check which name was logged in on the computer

Were trying to limit the mandatory spots on the route because its already a long drive and theres no need to add more time with unnecessary stops that aren't for food, gas, or objectives. We will all be taking the same route, so im sure we could make it so we meet each other on the road, I just need to work out all the little details.

Im actually working with Kurt on organizing it all. We are looking at a few different routes right now.

I'm also interested, however it will depend on when we can actually leave. Right now we're thinking early on Thursday, to arrive before the welcome dinner.

The group from DC can leave at whatever time you all agree upon. We will be leaving at 6-6:15am from Philly. I was originally thinking for you to leave around 2.5 to 3 hours later so we could all meet up on the road, however if you want to leave earlier then that its no problem.

Luckily we are awarding points for team name and most objectives completed, so even if you are the caboose, you could still win the prize for people from DC.

what kind of motorcycle are you bringing?

Actually, can you supply us with the route? It might be easier for us here in DC to determine the "jump-in" point. I'll check the main thread and your site in the meantime. I think it's gonna be fun!

The final route has not been determined. We had a route planned out, then Kurt suggested an alternate route which is still on the table.

As far as the jump in point, all of the DC group will be leaving from the same place and time. This way we could all meet up on the road.

Cool, I'll keep monitoring the thread, and maybe check with Kurt too.

Ok, the final route will be a secret. Sorry Scavenger. The only ones who will know it in advance are Kurt, Eric, and I.

Kurt will gather everyone the morning of the event, give a spiel and handout the TripTiks with the route, objectives and other goodies.
