Grat idea, Stace. I'd be happy to sign it, and proud to leave it at the memorial.

All, I've just completed putting this entire run into Google Earth. I'm waiting for a final review by Coopercops and then I'll let anyone who would like to import it and do a virtual run have it. I don't really have a place to post it... so I may just email it to people who want it.

BTW:

I like that idea!!

See everyone Saturday morning and Happy Motoring!!

I just got the sign-off that the route file is good to go. Let me know if you want it.

Sure, Scavenger, I'd like a copy of that route file. Can you attach it in a PM, or do you need an e-mail address ?

One more day, DCMM Club ! I see the weather folks are now saying rain in the eastern half of MD until mid-morning. For those of us going over on Saturday, first couple hours of the trip may well be in rain. I'll have my speed shine and some MF towels if anyone needs them.

Oh Crap! I got the clings, guess we will be coming anyway! Pray for some better weather!
Gonna go sleep now!

Good news!! They are not calling for rain in Cumberland tomorrow or anywhere Northwest of Cumberland, but it is only going to be in the 50's for the high.

Leaving the a signed flag is a wonderful idea, I'm in.

REMINDER: Some of us are meeting at the Double T diner on Rt40 for breakfast tomorrow morning - 7:30/7:45 for breakfast, leaving 8:30 for Cumberland.

Don't forget your radios!

I'll have a pair of new Cobra FRS radios in tow. Might need a little training during breakfast on how to use the darn things though.

Yep, Western half of Maryland, PA and WV look good, weather-wise, for tomorrow ! Should be a gorgeous, albeit cool, day.

not yet..it's only Friday
the weather does indeed suck, but it's going to improve by tomorrow for the area we'll be in. Think layers, folks...gonna be downright chilly.
Y'all please be careful in the rain. Keep an eye on Jeremy and his mom as this will be their 1st big drive.
See you tomorrow.

TIP: Those of you just getting radios, DO NOT activate the "roger beep" or the tone that is transmitted when you release the button after you talk, it is LOUD and ANNOYING! Also, don't "call" anyone. There is a button on most radios that activate a call function to alert others that someone is trying to get your attention. I would really appreciate it. Thanks

I'm pretty sure the "roger beep" is a local setting only - it doesn't transmit to other radios. I might be wrong, but if you hate that beep, you will probably only hear it when you're standing around the other people in parking lots, etc. I actually like it myself, it confirms to me that the transmission is complete... there have been a few times I accidentally let go of the transmit button too early, and if not for the beep I may not have realized it.

However, the "alert" button (or "call" as you referred to it) IS VERY ANNOYING - a gratingly loud pulsing sound that IS transmitted to everyone. Please don't use it, people!

The "Roger beep" is transmitted to everyone so than they know you have completed transmission. The reason it bothers me is that some of us speak softer than others and I turn it up to hear them and then BEEP! and it blows my eardrum out!

It doesn't seem like I can send a file via PM, so PM me your email and I'll send the file to ya.

Looking forward to a fun run!

Let me know what ya think! I spent several hours doing that. I think it would be cool to offer that for all our runs. It helps get a feel for the run ahead of time really.

Everyone who is going tomorrow, hear me now and believe me later -

The first person who gives me crap about my wheels/MINI being dirty is the person who volunteers to cleam them!!! Y'all can kiss my as...er, butt if any of you think that I'm going to clean my car in ~50 degree temps in the f'in rain!!!

See you all tomorrow~

-Paul!!!
