I need tint, anyone else?

So I thought I read somewhere that DCMM had a tint party once upon a time or maybe I’m just jumbling all the post that I’ve read . Either way we mentioned tinting at the Towson breakfast and a few people mentioned that they needed tinting also. So I was wondering if we should try and get a tint party together. I’m not even sure how we would go about getting something like this together, but I’m sure there is someone here that does. So what does everyone think?[/FONT]

That was a year ago along with a pulley party.

If you want tint just go to http://www.hprcustoms.com/. About the cheapest around or Solar Solutions (sp) in Laurel (check with MDSbrain ... he knows them). For Odenton, Glen Burnie is probably closer.

Yes this was a reality and occured in OCT 2005. It was Vinyl, tint and Mod party. It was held in Laurel @ Solar Solutions 301-498-7333. The guy Carlos there tinted like 20 MINIs in a 3 day stretch and Mike of AC did tons of Vinyl. We also had Randy Webb of Webb Motorsports on hand for mods.

Carlos had a killer deal of $100/MINI to tint.

Another tint party could be done or probaly just a good word of mouth of people heading to see the shop for tint.

Someone at the MoT Breakfast had some very strong opinions about HPR. Doesn't sound like they want to deal with them ever again.

As for people who still need a tint. I do, I think Sally will once she gets her new ride.

Why, cause its a speed shop?

I see nothing wrong with the tint they did for me. We're talking tint, not twin charge kit

I think they do a massive amount of work, always seem busy.

I'll call Carlos tomorrow and see how his schedule is. I could also get the local Scion club involved to get a big group and to help keep the cost low :-)

saying they weren't happy with the job of the tint would be an understatement. But I'm not going to derail things anymore than they already are.

Can they do the tint the color that will be acceptable to the insane DC tint laws? (yes, I am bitter since I had to remove tint on my other car at DMV to pass DC inspection...)

He can do any tint you want. From light to legal to limo dark. Although I think if you go more then legal dark the price usually increases.

Will update tomorrow with more info

I went over to a LA Tint in Woodbridge on Friday....awesome work with the top of the line tint on the market....not that cheap crap that turns purple in less than a year. Formula One tint is warrantied for life...no questions. I went the darkest I could go to remain legal in VA.

There is a huge difference in qualities of tint...make sure you inquire about that.

I've had my tint done by Carlos, and he was very neat and professional with the installation, and is very familiar with the laws of tinting in MD. My wife was so impressed withthe tint that she had her Maxima tinted as well.

The date is set!

I just got off the phone with Carlos. The dates are OCT 14-15th.

Tint, stereos, alarms, tvs, amps you name it his shop will install it. The main thing though is tint.

Last time the going rate for MD/VA/DC legal tint was $100. I'm sure the price isn't much different. I will start a new thread shortly. To schedule a time you must call Carlos (or whoever answers) @ Solar Solutions 301-498-7333 and mention the promotion. Maybe later we can post what times we are scheduled

Quick question

Is that for the doors, rear side glass and the rear door glass, or just the door glass and the rear side glass? Whichever, it sounds good and it is $100 less then I was just quoted from another MD tinter.

Thanks, Gene

All 4 side windows and rear. I paid like $25 more to have my sunroof done and $10 for the strip on my windshield. So if you want all of that is $135 with a lifetime warranty. My car was tinted over 15 months ago and its perfect

More details here
