i was actually trying to think of something to bring earlier today. i thought about strawberries maybe? but if everyone is bringing a fruit maybe i should bring something else? if strawberries are fine with everyone let me know. and if not i will think of something else (open for suggestions as well).

We will bring a cold pasta dish (Spaghetti al Pomodoro). Hopefully the dish will survive the loooooooooooong trip.

I think i'm bringing some sort of potato salad, probably of the german variety. Seems my grandmother used a buy one get one free thing for a 5lb sack of potatos. So she has a rather large surplus of potatos that I'm going to make use of. Unless I can think of something else cool to make.

Weather

Something to keep in mind as you're planning your item to share. Last I saw, it's supposed to be HOT and HUMID Saturday. If your item could melt or spoil in the heat then you might want to think about some way to keep it cool... As far as I know, we'll be outside...

I know I've already considered that which is why I am leaning toward German Potato Salad. No mayo or anything that goes nasty in the sun.

Room Left?

Bea and I would like to stretch the GIAC legs on ChiliBit if there is room left. We are familiar with Perryville et al. Is the departure still 0900?

Sue and Bryon, you guys still coming in to Towson?

right now for the pre_BBQ run:

grumbler
lastrega
stella
chilibit
wagnbat
bgbadwlf(?)

I would like to leave Port Deposit between 8:00 and 8:45, i have shortened the run up a bit(20 miles or so of dirt), so I am hoping that it will be ~3hrs, this will get us in to Towson between 11 and 12.

Yep, we will be outside.

I think I am going to bring the logistics vehicle on Saturday (Bronco instead of MINI) and try to bring both my big coolers of ice. Hopefully, we can find a shady spot to set up.

If you'd rather bring the MINI let me know and I'll swing by on my way up. It'll be just me so the MINI will be pretty empty.

Portside Grill

According to MapSource the Portside Grill should be where the tracks cross Rowland. But I don't know the currency of that data. It is in version 6.5. I gather that Rowland is 276 extended toward the river.

yes, that is the place. the owner closed it down recently, but the parking off to the left is where we will meet.

on a sad note, the Frosting Fairy will not be open for us to partake of some coffee and food. I suggest everybody grabs something before they get there. I remember a series of fastfood stuff before I95 crosses the river. I would guess that would be the nearest place.

for those with mapsource, here is a copy of the route

Hmmmm......I think I'll bring made-from-scratch baked beans. They'll stand up to the heat.
I better scamper to the store and get started, so they can cook all day tomorrow...
