BBQ Gathering - MINI of Towson - June 25
I am having trouble RSVPing to the BBQ at towson with the link you posted. My computer comes up with an error saying "system cannot find path". Please let the people in charge know that I will be attending.

You are more than welcome to come to the BBQ at Tate. Send your RSVP to events@dcmetrominis.org.
I am sure Paul would like to have another all black MC in the club!

pre_BBQ Tour of the MD State Parks and Then Some
pre_BBQ Run
.....those are the photos from my little excursion through the upper part of MD. You will have to excuse the blurry ones, my hands are still shaking a little after those turns.
If you note the condition of my car and a couple of the pics, there is a little dirt in there. I am trying to get rid of those roads, but it just isnt that simple. Please keep that in mind if you decide to come along.
With time out for bathroom and pictures, the trip was 3:30 hours of some incredible country side and wish for death turns. The bathroom break consisted of a few trees behind a maintainence shed.......if I could have found better I would have gone there. Towards the beginning there is a pass by the park center, that is the most probable location for bathroom break. It is, however, only one in 3:30 hours.
Port Deposit is a beautiful little town. We will be meeting on the left side of the Bainbridge Naval Muesum. It used to be the parking lot for the restuarant there, but that particular establishment has closed down. Google Map Get to the intersection of 276 and 222. Go onto Rowland Dr( a left at that point assuming you are coming down 222 from I95) Cross the railroad tracks and take a left. We will be parking in the pave/gravel lot there. Now, my scouting for a place to grab a morning snack only turned up the Frosting Fairy. I have to call, but according to the locals, she does have coffee and pastries fresh made in the morning. She was closed when I got there, so I am not too sure. Will know more later.
Now, to be realistic about time, I would like to leave Port Deposit between 8:00 and 8:30.......that will get us into towson between 11:00-12:00........hopefully the crew going there will be sure to hold a few burgers for us true mini explorers.
Now, to be realistic about cars, I would like to have a count before thursday.....and I will cut the list over 10. Since I am the only one driving who knows the route, and I dont know someone else with a Garmin GPS that I can download to, I figure that is the largest group that I could reasonably keep from getting lost.
(Note, I dont expect 10)
Since this is not offically sanctioned by the DCMM event body, do not expect clings, beautifully printed maps, etc, etc....
Final note, my god it was a gorgeous day and gorgeous run......really mind alternating.(...to such an extent, I am thinking I need to get some sticky tires and improved rear sway bars.
)

I'm planning to attend the pre-run. Just have to wake myself up early enough.
Weather is looking good too, though we all know forecasts can change:

Growler, et al,
They DO have their car wash set up for paying customers. Maybe we can sweet-talk 'em a bit, or bribe 'em with chow. You're really only talking about the (max) 10 MINI's on your run, right? That's pretty manageable, I'd say.
Cheers,
Matthew Z.

Hmm, if he's a 'bot, is he an Autobot, or a Decepticon?
Just a thought
Matthew Z.
Autobot, of course.
All I know is, I made it to MOTD, and at least 3 other events (Towson in March, Spring Fling, and the drive-in night). That's not TOO shabby. Especially MOTD.

Can folks roger up with what they are bringing, to avoid duplication of effort, and ensure a wide variety of comestibles and such..
I'm bringing watermelon, and if I can find good sauce recipes, yakitori or satay possibly. Failing that, some mushrooms to grill up.
Cheers,
Matthew Z.
