DCMM New Members Welcome Thread
I'm glad all these new folks like their welcome packages. They are pretty neat.
Now, if we could only solve the slight speeling, I mean, spelling snafus...Jen.
And you can't blame age, cuz I'm waaaaaaaayy older than you and I can still spell. My memory, however, is another story....

Your membership cards are en route to you this morning. I am waiting on time to get to Kinkos to reprint our business cards and then I will get your new member packets out. Give me about three weeks.

Hello all, My name is Tim Strand. My wife (Shole) and I just joined the club last week. I am finally getting a chance to post my first message. We just got our 2005 MCS on July 16th and have already taken the first road trip to upstate NY, what a blast. We are looking forward to meeting everyone and enjoying some twisties.

Greetings! I am a new 05 CR/W w/Wbonnetstrps #3 MINI owner and I have had my MINI for three weeks now and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!!!
I have washed the MINI three times and waxed it once! Now I don't mind when the wife asks me to run to the store for something! I live in the Ellicott City/Columbia, MD area and commute to Rockville, MD M-F. I have been lurking here and at NAM for a couple of weeks. My new MINI is named Red 5 (any other MINI or MCS Star Wars fans out there?) and will soon be decorated in a subtle Star Wars theme with stripes indicating Red 5, and the Rebel Alliance and Incom (the manufacturer of the X-Wing) logos. I have wanted my own MINI for four years and have always planned to personalize it in a Star Wars X-Wing theme. When it comes to personalized deco my philosophy is less = more, so it won’t be as over the top as the cars at RoadSquadron.com, although I really do appreciate their creativity. As for the roof art… the jury is still out on that one and I have several designs I am considering. Are there any other Star Wars themed MINI/MCS out there? Are there any sci-fi, fantasy or superhero themed MINI/MCS out there? I have been looking, but haven’t found any… yet. Anyway, I am so happy with my MINI and so happy to have joined NAM.
When I see other MINI/MCS I am sure to wave/flash/honk! Happy motoring and my the Force be with you all… and your little dog too!

My commute path is this. I get on Rte-29 south from Rte-103 and go to Rte 216 West. Then across Lime Kiln and Browns Bridge onto Ednor and into Montgomery county. Rte 28 to Gude Drive and Research Boulevard.
By the way, when you are in the Ellicott City area make sure to drive on New Cut Road. That road was made for MINIs!

May I ask a favor?
If you receive something that is spelled wrong. If you don't get something that you wanted. If you don't get something that you asked for or ordered. If you are looking for your membership card or new member packet. Or you need help with your club membership - please e mail me at membership@dcmetrominis.org rather than clutter up this board and thread with requests which I may or may not read depending on whether I have time to cruise the boards.
Thanks.

Glad you decided to join the MINI ranks, Scavenger! Now, in order to truly be a "DCMM New Member", you actually have to join DCMM.

It's only $26/year... and as you've seen, very much worth it.
