Dragon: Anybody need a room?

I find that I have an irreconcilable conflict with this year's Dragon .

I have a cabin reservation at the Fontana for the weekend. Rather than cancel it (and losing a $25 deposit) I would be happy to re-assign it to someone else.

I also have prepaid registration (totalling $85) for most of the events and meals. While I can ask Mark for a credit, I could easily have my arm twisted to re-assigning my registration to some other worth individual.

If interested, please send me PM to mailto:w3iwi@toad.net

Put me down as a maybe. I hate to say that, but at least it's some hope. If someone else decides they want to take over your reservation and/or registration, then please, by all means, proceed.

I've been trying to deliberate whether I can make it to the Dragon or not. Since I am currently on a 3 1/2 week vacation overseas, I'm not sure I can take any more time off work so soon after I get back... and since ideally I'd want to leave on the Thursday, it's a hard decision.

On top of that, I am a little concerned about my lead foot over such a long drive, without any radar detector protection yet. Then again, I guess my Valentine One could temporarily be mounted the old fashioned way, cigarette lighter adaptor and suction cups!

I have been leaning towards not going, for both the reasons above and that it's getting a bit late to make reservations, etc... but your post gives me reason to think it may still be possible.

Am I a fence-sitter or what? Sorry to be frustratiing.

Edge...quit being so "edgy!" LMAO! You will regret it if you don't get you and your MINI up to the Dragon! It is so much fun! I drive there all the way from Los Angeles every spring!

Thanks to all who replied. Katie (kgdblu) is going to make use of the reservations. Sorry we can't be there. -- Tom

(EDITED)

Can't help myself, and certainly don't want to offend, but I as I read this and laughing out loud I was singing in my mind the old kecthup commercial some may remember "anticipation,,," only I was using the word Procrastination instead

And guess what while he was typing, the cabin got taken!

W31WI hope you get to come down and play with us, Do like the Nike Commercial,,,,, Just do it!

Lordy man, as my mom used to say, "Throw a dart..make a decision!".
The cabin has 2 bedrooms, and my husband trusts me enough to rent out the other bedroom. So, edge....throw that dart...you still have a bed to crash in...we'll split the cost.. Come on down!
My thanks to Tom, though I feel badly you guys can't make it.

Thanks for the offer Katie... unfortunately I can't commit to it until I'm at least back from my existing vacation and I can assess the situation at work. I'm glad to hear that the reservation isn't going to waste, though!

Oh, and Minzilla... considering my post was the night before Katie mentioned her email... I'm not so sure I lost it "while I was typing". Heh. (unless the "email" in question was actually sent the night before?)

Even if it doesn't work out, I won't be upset... but I will be disappointed at missing the fun!

LOL, not me, boss. I'm an old lady, who can only stay awake late if she has a lengthy afternoon nap. I don't drink beer, and tho' I am bringing a bottle of the best coconut rum you've ever tasted, I drink in moderation. An exciting evening for me is making significant progress on the NYTimes crossword puzzle and watching a good movie on da tube. I don't think the cabin has a TV, but I'll bring a portable CD player fer tunes.
This is not to say I don't want folks to come over and hang out, just don't expect Animal House II.

Cruzan?
Can't really comment too much on that though as I've only really had 2 brands. Parrot bay (Captain Morgans) and Cruzan and Cruzan was by far the best.

So glad yer making it out there!

Welllllll...

I've gone and done it. Seeing the looming deadlines for some items, I've gone and charged up the credit card, now I'm registered, with the nice badge, and a bunch of other goodies. No turning back!

I still have to face the "will my boss let me" issue (3 1/2 weeks Down Under has a way of making the boss leery of letting more time be taken off), and after that, the accommodation issue. Hopefully the 2nd room at either kgdblu or samiam01's cabins will still be available by the time I am ready to commit... or else it means bringing the sleeping bag and camping in the car.

Assuming I don't run into problems, I'll definitely want to caravan too... (hopping over to the other thread)

The room's still available, Haemish.

Promise your boss that you'll work like a dog to make up the time.

Hit the commit button, boyo! You won't regret it.

Save some of that rum for me, Katie! I think most of the cabins have TVs. See you soon, sweetie!
