Was It You?¿?¿?
Spotted this AM around 9:10
You were traveling on MacArthur Blvd heading toward intersection of Seven Locks. It was an Off-white, black bonnett stripes, S. Exact opposite color of mine. We have been waving back and forth for a few passings.

We ate all sorts of sushi last weekend in Florida - one of my all-time best buds and I fished in Pensacola, and his wife (a lovely Japanese lady) served up some of our catch! Redfish are OK raw...

Oh no...
My boyfriend called me a little bit ago - he was driving on Rte 28 (Sully Road) in Sterling/Ashburn by Waxpool Road. Traffic was really backed up - when he got close to it, he said he saw a completely totalled MINI Cooper. He was terrified it was me, but then realized that it was "red with bonnet stripes" as he called it. He said it looked like it had flipped a few times, but the interior still looked to be in good shape. It must have happened a while ago because the ambulances had already cleared the people away and all that was left were the police and firetrucks.
Well, I've read enough stories on the boards to know that even if it was one of us, we probably made it through okay, since MINIs tend to give their lives away to save ours. If anyone knows anything about this (one of our members? Are they in the hospital?) please post so maybe we can raise a collection or just give our support.

Who works at Martins Crosswind in Greenbelt, MD?
I work (sometimes) in one of the Maryland Trade Center towers and I always ee a Hyper (or Indi) Blue Mini in the parking lot over my Martins Crosswind.

On the greenbelt Mini note, I am curious as to who is the owner of the Blue (not sure which blue) Mini S with black bonnet stripes, that has a DCMM decal on thier side window who works on goddard. Saw it in front of Bld. 21 the other day....

As for the Waxpool/28 wreck, Patricia saw the wreck cleanup on her way home around 3:30 but didn't see the MINI. She was in our MINI getting on to 28 S from Waxpool.

I was in the Safeway in Laurel yesterday and walked passed a lady about 5'5" with light colored hair. She was wearing a black shirt with the word MINI written across it in white. The sleeves and collar were trimmed in white. I thought it was cute.

Seriously though, if your anti-SUV plates were so tough, why didn't you keep them when you got the MINI?
I deliberately wanted a plate that was somewhat antagonistic, but also somewhat playful. In this area (Northern VA), there are a LOT of stuck-up people who take enormous pride in their massive SUVs, especially luxury SUVs. An even lower number of "practical use" SUV owners than I suspect most of the rest of the country. Those people are likely more immature about it, and more likely to react irrationally. I think my plates are about as much as I am comfortable getting away with here! Wealthiest county in the country, Fairfax county... lots of people with loads of money and "above the law" syndrome.
I've been working downtown for this month (temporary re-assignment to help out on a contract) and I keep seeing this LY/W MCS with the tags "GO NATS" (i.e. Washington Nationals). I've been meaning to bring a DCMM card and tag it, but I keep forgetting to grab a few from my car before I jump on the Metro. I'll get to it soon!

Alright, since April, I have only seen you one other time parked at the Landover Metro Station.
This is MY turf, darnit! I've been the only MCS there. Estrella rules that metro.
Just kidding, but seriously, you parked at Landover in the 2nd parking lot I refer to as Egypt because it takes like 10 minutes to walk from there to the metro gates. It really sucks when it's pouring rain outside.
Just throwing it out there.

I had lunch yesterday at Baja Fresh, right there in the shopping center at Lee Highway and Nutley St... so yes it was probably me. I even tagged a MINI (HO MCC I think), which I parked next to before we ate.
No special aftermarket "lowering" kit, but I DO have the JCW suspension which apparently lowers the car by 1mm. Not much!
