if you see me zipping around the alexandria with ohio tags and no front plate honk and wave or corner me and say hi!. i have never seen so many minis in one area before in my life. they are everywhere out here!
Welcome to the DC area. Are you just in for a visit or are you here for a while? We are from SW PA and got stuck here when I retired and forgot to get a passport to get back north of the line. Have you joined the DC Metro Mini Organization yet? Great club with a lot of goings on. You can find them on this site, NAM.
If yoiu have been here for a week, then you have probably noticed that life is a little different than in Toledo. Lot of great things to do in Alexandria though. We enjoy getting there once in a while, but I would not live there.
My wife and I were pestering Jeff (great guy btw) at MoS about the ETA of her car. To kill time he let us test drive a MCSC. While we were out, we saw and waved to a MCS with a large window sticker on the driver side passanger window. That was the first of many greetings to come.
My wife's car, Mouse, should be here later this week.
with a large window sticker on the driver side passanger window
so uhh, which window was it the drivers side, or the passenger? Are you talking about the rear drivers side window? also, do you know what the sticker was?
Yeeaah, that would be the rear driver side window. Didn't get a good look at it.
I figure there weren't too many mini drivers going east on Waxpool waving at couple in a convertable mini waiting to turn out of a parking lot on Saturday afternoon (don't remember what time)
Actually, yesterday I did order something for my MINI. I have an itch to take apart the interior again, and this should scratch it nicely! And as a bonus, I'm getting an OEM part that even Mr. OEM himself doesn't have!!!
Oh yeah! I got the Interior Light kit. I actually have a review all typed up, I just need to take some pics for it. But the short of it is - it would have been cool for $25. For $125, not so much!
Ya know, if you ever decide to show up for an event again, you might be able to see it...
Spotted yesterday afternoon, parked on Roland Ave (Hampden) in Baltimore Ave... a GP! Didn't get a chance to catch it's number, because I was driving past. Cool to see one in the "wild" though, and not at a DCMM or MINIUSA event.

Well... Actually that was a DCMM members' car you saw. Christian MD and his fiance came up from Solomon's Island for the parade yesterday. He's driving a GP and she's sporting a Purple Haze (the best color ever) MCS. After the parade, they introduced a few of us to brunch at the Cafe Hon. A good time was had by all.

You didn't get the number because you were driving past... or driving fast?

Been to Cafe Hon a couple of times, not bad... although it can get loud in there because everyone's crammed into one room. Saw the PH MINI too, and a bunch of other MINIs, but I have always noticed MINIs parked in the Hampden area, so that wasn't unusual. The GP however... heh.

I'm sure it was - I would have tried to go, but I had to be at MoT for the DCMM board meeting, which was done there in conjunction with the breakfast. The 9:45am line-up for the parade made attendance at both events impossible!
