Looking for PO of my CR/W R53

Does anyone know a guy that lives in the DC Area (I believe he works in Baltimore as an attorney) that traded in a Chili Red/White R53 about a year ago? I know it's a long shot, but thought it would be worth posting. I can post a 'little' more information if needed. The car is mainly stock except for a K40 remote radar system. I do know it was serviced at Benchmark Motors in Columbia, MD. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Mike

Yea, probably need more info. There are alot of MINIs in our area that don't join the club and use the MINIs for transportation only. It sounds like this may be the case since it wasn't serviced @ any of the dealers. Did you try taking the key to your dealership and see if any service was done around here?

There is MINI of Sterling, MINI of Towson, and MINI of Annapolis (formerly Tate MINI)

They may be able to pull up the PO, but I doubt that they will give it to you. The Feds have really started to crack down on us as Dealers. We have to be very careful with any personal information that we have.

Oh, I completely understand. I knew it was a longshot, but figured it was worth a try. I obviously don't know if he was active in any clubs, but I know he drove the MINI quite a bit. It had nearly 140k miles on it when I bought it last month. I don't feel entirely right about posting his name here on NAM. Who is the president/vice president/etc. of the DC Metro club? I'd feel more comfortable PMing his name to them.

There are several reasons I'd like to talk to the PO. They include past stories about it, any documentation that he has on it, what did he replace it with, etc.

I have talked at length with two of the PO's of my 911 and it has been great. Each one of them would have stories of why something looks like it does, what caused 'this', etc. Just good stuff, IMO.

Maybe I'm just being a nerd or something, but my cars are a part of me, and love to know as much as I can about them.

Thanks again!
Mike

I understand this too, but I thought it was fairly customary that if someone wanted to contact a PO, then the person would give his information to the dealership. The dealership would contact the PO and give him/her the information of the new owner, and let them know the new owner would like to talk to them.

Obviously, if a dealership is not willing to do something like that, then I would be more likely to take my business elsewhere.

That is about the only way we can do it any more, and you have to bring the idea to them. As stupid as it sounds wecan not offer that up. Your Tax dollars at work. It is getting to where we have to take friendly out of everything. I guess I was born a few years late.

I completely understand and agree. How can sales/customer service/etc. NOT be friendly or personable, or build a relationship? That's what most dealers in my area banked on in the past - it wasn't the immediate sale. It was the fact that someone was treated fairly, and would return when it was time to purchase another car. Word-of-mouth advertisement was and always is best.

Thanks! Who should I contact in the DC Metro area?

I am in Albuquerque and do not know anyone in the DC area. But if I were you I would ask around in this forum. I hope this helps!
