Looking for MINI mechanic in NOVA

Hi all. I haven't been on NAM, in a few months, because I'm been doing some traveling. Anyway, I took the Mini out for a quick spin to the store and something went wrong. I now have oil in my coolant. I'm leaning towards the head gasket, but I'm really not sure. The car didn't loose any power and it's not smoking. I only noticed this because of a gurgling sound after I powered down.

I'm looking for some one what can perform a compression test or offer an educated opinion. I'm willing to compensate you for your time. The earliest for me would be Sunday or sometime during the week. You can reply here of send me a pm.

The car is currently garaged in Bristow, VA.

Thanks
Steve

Try Funktion Auto (http://funktionauto.com). They work with mostly German cars and specialize in BMW and MINIs. Good people over there.

Good luck! Let us know how it worked out.

+1 for Funktion

I looked up your car's location on google maps. Not only is Funkion a good place to go but they are not to far away. If you are in Falls Church I have had good luck with London Auto.

Thanks, I'l give them a call. I think I'm going to go ahead and do the compression test this morning, to give me a general idea of whats wrong.

You might also check with Dan at Fastmini in Sterling, VA. Here is the link to their website. http://www.fastmini.net/

I have had oil changes done there and Dan is pretty knowledgable about Minis.

Just another option and I believe his rates are better.

How could I forget Mach 5. Yeah, I'm just going to have it towed to Dan in the morning.

MINI body work in NoVA

Anyone have a reference for an honest body shop? My A pillar had a close encounter with a deer.

Thanks!

Mach V patched me right up . It turns out it wasn't a blown head gasket, but a cracked oil cooler. After HOURS of work and several replaced parts, I'm back on the road again. I'm waiting to see the pictures of the "dialysis" system they created to get the all the "peanut butter" out of the coolant system. Thanks Dan and crew, Great Work! I'll be back in a few weeks for those other goodies we spoke about.

oh yeah
The first shop I took it too recommended new coolant hoses or a full engine replacement. I think they should just stick to tires.
