[Sunday, January 13th @ 10am.] Cabin Fever Run & Brunch

Since there doesn't seem to be many driving activities scheduled for the winter months, I thought I would try to get a run together so we could all get out and enjoy the winter scenery.

The fun starts at 10:30 at Hunt Valley Mall in northern Baltimore County and ends near Joppa in Harford County.

The run takes approximately 2-1/4 hours and covers 65.5 miles.

Sights will include McMansions, old farmhouses, streams, horses, beautiful, large estates ( un-McMansionesque) and other stuff.

We will conclude the run with brunch at Mountain Branch Golf course.

http://www.mountainbranch.com/layout...579&page=30271

If you attended the Baltimore County Bridges and Backroads Blitz, you have an idea of the types of roads we will travel. If you didn't attend , the roads consists of sweepers, twisties, hills , and bridges (not as many span bridges though , but we still go through the covered bridge ).

Come on out and join us!

Make sure you co-ordinate this with Chris, so he can put it on the DCMM Calendar.

Thanks for putting this together, Bill. I regretted that Bev and I missed your run from the last MoT Breakfast because I heard it was a great one. I was actually thinking of going up some weekend and trying to replicate that run but this will do.

Count Bev and I in but just to warn everyone - we're cursed. Every time we commit to something...it snows!

If the weather is clear, we'll see you then.

Glad that you will be able to make it.

Last time it was a blast, and this time he said he is adding some secret twisties into the route.

Can't wait, can't wait.

Oh, btw, hopefully we will have a stop for photo-op this time.

Hello from a new 2007 Mini S owner !

I picked up a businiss card for your club while picking up my new and first Mini at Towson Mini. I was wondering if I could participate in this motoring event. What are the "non-member" fees that were mentioned ? Do I HAVE to have a PayPal account in order to pay club dues ?

Proud to be a Mini Owner !

Hi MiniPol,

Congratulations on your new addition! Details.

Please feel free to come out and join us on the run.
The best thing to do is join the club then you don't have to worry about the non-member fee. Plus, you get all the cool swag and discounts on parts. I think it's the best bargain you'll ever find on anything MINI related . As a bonus, you also have the oppurtunity to meet a lot of really nice, like MINI-minded people.

Bill

Welcome to the club (apologies for not having posted as of late--work is rather hectic lately)! I am not sure if Olga (MAXCOM) and I will be able to make the run, but we look forward to meeting you soon!

Feel free to PM me anytime!

Here's hoping that you and Olga can make it ! What's the saying, the more the merrier !

Question though... all I know is that the start is going to be at Hunt Valley Mall.... WHERE at the mall though ? By Wegmans, the Cinema, or ? And if the weather is bad, there's always a fine Irish Pub that I know of down the road a bit...

I figured that we could meet in the coffee shop of Wegman's. There's a set of doors that lead right into that area.

The rain shouldn't stop the run. Snow...we'll see.

Oops!

Did some recon at Wegman's today; my memory isn't what it used to be.

The layout is different than I remembered.

If you face Wegman's, you'll notice the entrance under the "Wegman's" sign.Don't enter those doors or we may never see you again! Yes, the store is that big.
To the right of that sign is another sign that reads "Market Cafe".
Enter those doors and turn right.
There are stairs and elevators that lead to the second floor.
The second floor has much more seating than the ground floor so this should make a better meeting area.

If you are heading down Shawan Road from I-83, it is probably a little easier to enter the shopping center from the second light(left). Wegman's should be readily visible as soon as you pull in.

I ran the route again today and made a couple of revisions so the time and distance have probably changed a little.

Added a coupla more twisties and a pretty cool spot for a group photo.

I told you all I was cursed! When I make a commitment with my MINI it's icy or snowy.

But it's just as well on my end. Bev just booked a trip out of town the next day so we have to back out. I'm missing my second Wolf Run and I'm NOT happy!

On the bright side, now that I can't make it....undoubtedly, the weather will clear up for you all.

Sorry for missing this run as well Bill.

Glenn
