M7 58mm throttle body V.2?!?!?!?!

The M7 58mm throttle body V.2 looks like a great mod for my 2005 Cooper, and I know DiD has put it on, so that's comforting, but what is the difference? I have looked at the M7 site's info, and the flow patterns, but really is the power difference substanital enough to make a change? It's only a mm bigger, and does the power cost in gas mi.?

Anyone else with the 58mm installed have anything to say?

Thanks,
-Steve

Hi there....

Yes DID does have one of our newly designed V.2 TB's, it would be interesting
if he could give us some feedback, as we did have to play with different sizes
of TB's to accomodate the 06 ECU.
In less then 30 days M7 will have some very exciting new products for you power hungry MC owners, these products will................

OOOhhh!

I guess I'll just wait to get my SRPs so I can combine shipping!

I suppose changing to your TB is equiv. to getting ported and polished - in the way that it will increase power by increasing efficiency... Sound about right? It's not so much that it just dumps in more fuel, right?

Cool...thanks!

Right-O, thanks, Dave!

How has your milage been according to the computer? Even if it is off a bit from actual, it is comparable to before and after...

I haven't noticed any change in the mileage (getting 28-30 mpg around town while still having some rev happy fun)

Wow, that's what I get (if I drive alone!)

Thanks for the info, but just one more Q...

You pay an extra $200 for a core change, then send your stock TB back and get refunded the $200 back, right? I haven't ever ordered a part that warrented a core change...

Yeah, that's the way the core charge works. Other vendors do it too with similar parts (TB's, intake manifold and runners, and heads).

If you promise something in 60 days and deliver it 45 days everyone is happy. If you promise something in 30 days and deliver in 45 days everyone is upset. As I mentioned in another read -- Underpromise and over deliver

I was lucky enough to get a verbal glimpse of what's to come. I know waiting sucks (as in I've been waiting for my second Mini for 5 months), but trust me, it will be well worth it.

My constructive criticism is not aimed at M7 nor anyone else. It is there for anyone to accept or ignore. I once was one of the worst violators. I am looking forward to the new M7 projects.

My review for this product

It is freakin' awesome!

- Easy, easy, easy install. I'm a car newb and it just took me 20-30 minutes! If you don't have an intake and you need to remove the air box then maybe 40 minutes to an hour.

- Inital impression off my drive way: throttle response vastly improved.

- On the road: Packs more punch through out the power band.

- Smoother acceleration and it seems to pick up a lot faster.

- Only down side is it costs $500 Canadian.

Over all it's a great product!

I wonder how many of those 30 days have gone by so far since 1/27....
I'm guessing about 10 or 12 so far.

It's been about 2 months now, so I'm guessing about 13 or 14
of the 30 days have gone by now.

Of all the companies I see involved in MINIs, I've never seen a company that has as many people screaming back and forth at each other as do the M7 folks. I've never dealt with them, mostly out of the "where there's smoke, there's fire" philosophy.

You know, I won't say I wouldn't deal with them - from everything I've read it seems they are true Mini fanatics as well as vendors - but c'mon guys "within 30 days we're going to rock your world" and then nada . . . you're burning your good will

You all stop it....please

As you can see we have been incredibly busy with all sort of products and releases. And the unfortunate reallity is there's only one of me.

The other problem is that I get 150 calls a week from MINI enthusiasts and of
those 150 I get at most one call from non S drivers.....

When did you call us and checked in for more info????
