SprintBooster / CEL / OBDII

Hello all

I received my SprintBooster from Way earlier this week (and I've also sent him a note, but I know he is out this week) - I am having a similar issue to the post here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ch-assist.html

1) I left my door open for about 10 mins
2) Installed the SprintBooster
3) Upon start, I get the check engine light and the indicator my cruise control is having an issue
4) If I turn off/turn on, I still get the CEL, but it drives fine.

I have an Innova 3100e, and I was able to pull the codes P11CE and P11EE - however, it will not let me erase them.

Anyone have any thoughts? I've thought about heading to Autozone to see if their tool can at least clear the codes, but I"m wondering if something is up with the SprintBoost unit.

Thanks!
~m

Update:
Unhooked the battery for about an hour to see if the codes would reset - they did not - same codes for first on/off and subsequent on/off above

I may remove and see if the codes clear - Way is going to check with the SB folks...I'm wondering if I have a bad unit

Double check that you have the right model for your car. That's all I got. Good luck.

Thanks...from what I've seen online, it looks to be the correct one - I'm having the folks at Way Motor Works verify...removing it appears to have solved the CEL....

I know for sure that autozone will not clear any codes for you.

I got mine from Way pretty much the day he got them in and he mentioned it might throw a CEL upon installation, he said to just turn the car off and on again a couple times. Sure enough after I installed I got a CEL and turned my car on and off a few times and it cleared itself, I've had it for a couple weeks now and haven't had a single code since the day I installed.

Sprint Booster

Glad to hear the problem cleared up. BTW, is yours version 2 or 3?

Not aware of any downside to the Sprint Booser. V3 has a great many more programmable functions whether you are in sport or race mode. There are 9 adjustments for each which adjusts throttle response from 3 to 6% each step.

Here's a good video:

This page describes the additional features of Version 3:

Same problem

I am having the exact same issue. I have turned the car off and on again multiple times. It gets rid of the code but, as soon as the car sits for a while I get the engine malfunction message and car goes into limp mode. Any suggestions?

Before you installed did you open your door and let your car sit for 10+ minutes to let the computer shut off? Or is the connector from the sprint booster flipped around?

Tried again

I installed again today only this time I opened the door for at least 30 minutes and took the key well over 100ft away from car and put in a lockbox. After the install I then used the key and inserted it into the car and waited until the computer reset. I removed the key and left the door open another 30 minutes to reset (per Sprntbooster). I called them this morning and that was their suggestion. And when I started up the car. Engine fault, reduced power and cruise control fault messages came back on. I am at a loss... I wasn't aware you could plug in the sprint booster backwards as it has a male and female end on it so it plugs inline?
