2010 R56 Won't start - low tire and yellow check engine light on

I'm wondering if somebody can please help me.

I have a 2010 R56 that drove fine an hour ago. The low tire pressure light came on for the front passenger side tire as it always does the minute the temperature drops below 70°. It's a a quirk with this car. I was literally only driving a few blocks so I didn't bother resetting the tire pressure light. I figured I would do it tomorrow when it wasn't raining or dark. I parked the car in the driveway, realized I forgot something and when I went back out to start the car, it wouldn't start. The low tire pressure light comes on and the yellow check engine light comes on. They're on for maybe a half a second and then everything goes off. The interior lights work. But I can't get the car to turn over. I press the button nothing happens. The locks work, brakelights work, interior lights work. The car won't start. I am nowhere near a dealer, I am the only one here, and I have no help...and apparently no car either. I live in South Carolina, so we've had a ton of rain here, but the car has not been in any flood situations. I didn't drive it all last week because of the rain, but it hasn't flooded. I'm hoping it's just the battery, but I can't check anything or jumpstart anything because I have no one here. I don't know what to do.

Any help is appreciated.

Nikkie

Most likely the battery. Is original? I'd hit up a neighbor for a jump to see if can get it going. If it does fire up, head for an auto parts store, most of them will replace it for you if they aren't busy..

Check the footwell (footwell module) area, it wouldn't be the first time I've heard of water puddling on the driver side footwell area. It's happen more than you think and always after it rains, many threads on it here. Also if it's a manual 6-speed check the electrical connection that goes to the clutch pedal, if loose or disconnected car won't start. It's happened to me, probably kicked it off with my foot. If I had a choice I'd never park my Mini in the rain, but it rarely rains here in CA anyway!

Question, does anybody notice after letting your Mini sit for 5-6 days do you notice when cranking over the engine that it sounds like a weak start or is it just me? Brand new OEM battery less than a year ago, as I understand that the 2007 MINI Cooper S didn't come with battery monitoring system.
