NGK ZFR6FIX-11 for R50?

This is a R50cvt owner from Asia Hong Kong.

I just got new iginition pack from dealer and I have let it quickly installed at my ride

The pack includes:-
screamin deamon coil
NGK spark plugs ZFR6FIX-11

(At the same time I have installed DDM CAI too)

After installation of the above, i ve got a problem.

Its horrible vibration from the engine bay when i push and release the gas pedal (and during rpm 1000-2000)

I just wanna figure out which of my new mods create the problem.
Is it the spark plugs not suit my R50? or do i need any ECU tuning after installed the CAI?

Sorry for my poor english.

Try the ngk website to see if those are the right plugs?
No ecu tuning needed with a cai....

Thanks zippyNH

i already did some research on forums and ngk website

forums and suppliers' website: some say it suits R53 (stock replacement) only ; some say it suits all Gen1 mini cooperNA/S
ngk website: it's not on the compatible list of R50/R53

Here is a thread on it:

At the end they cross reference the plug types .

Thanks

Warning....
R53 and r50 plugs are a different length....
Do not use a r53 plug in a r50....the shape of the piston is different...and the plug may physically HIT the piston.....
R50 motors have a higher compression piston.....

Thanks!

i will change to another R50 suitable spark plugs asap.

Btw, i just hv a question:- many of my friends who drive MINI they install the standard MSD ignition pack with their R50 and R53. The MSD packs they use are the same. Why it is no problem??

You need NGK 3199 BKR6EQUP or one of these others.

The ignition coils are the same for both cars...
The plugs are PHYSICALLY DIFFERENT....
If the wrong plugs are run in the car...they can FRACTURE the piston....or at the very least destroy the plug. If you remove the plug, and it shows impact dammage...it can be a VERY $$$ FIX.

I tried to restore the stock air box (with previous used K&N drop in) and also tried a BKR6E NGK (for R50) spark plugs, however the vibration is still there. I guess it should be caused by other parts and probably the engine mount.

Anyway, thanks for all your advice.
I love my engine bay much with the new mods

Finally 90% of the vibration and strange noise have gone away by a new engine mounts

Now my car becomes quiet and stable again.

Btw, without the vibration my car seems a bit slower of my feeling LOL
