I've been reading through the forum and was wondering if anyone with a base mini had put a short throw kit in.... I've been looking at the moss, but i know alta makes their own as well.

There are also non adjustable ones as well any input?

I live less then 10 minutes away from a drag strip and would love to have a shorter throw when i take it out on the weekends to have some fun.


On another note,

Any Idea's on where to get a catch can for a base mini? all of the ones I've seen are for s models. I know turbos tend to create more problems with oil vapors on the intake and blah blah blah, but I was shocked when i pulled my PCV off to just use the last of a seafoam bottle I had used on my girlfriends car. Oil sludge on an 18000 mile car?!?!?

I have an ALTA SSK on my MC, I love it. But, they don't make it anymore. You can get it on mossmini.com but it's 3x the price ALTA was selling it for.

There are people with MCs that have purchased the M7 catch can and it works just fine. You may need to mount it somewhere different or something like that.

 

Thanks for the input drewster, even with the price markup it's still about the same price as the Craven speed ones online, so overall it's still not a bad buy. I think that's what I'm going to actually go with. Might as well get it now too before they start disappearing because they have been discontinued. Was hoping to find an ebay one but no luck so far.

Anyone have pictures of their MC catch can install? would like to get some mounting/ placement ideas

 

Check the marketplace first for the SSK. I know there was one in there a week or two ago.

I haven't seen any pics of the OCC in an MC.

 

I put a Helix short throw on my justa several wks ago. Installation is a little time consuming but not difficult (you have to drop the exhaust system). It works great and it shortened my thrown from 3rd to 4th to 3".

I still haven't been able to properly mount my air filter yet, but thats a project for tomorrow, hoping that nothing major comes up again.

 

i will be changing that set up this weekend. gunna put a 4in pipe leading to where the oem inlet is in the front and make a aluminum box to keep out the engine heat. ofcourse going to have to move the coolant tank and occ.
