Codes P2237 and 3018
Just installed a new OBX header - Random Tech Cat - Supertrapp Muffler on my 2009 MINI - Gen 2 - nonS - Cooper
It runs very well - without driving problems.
It "threw" a code of: P2237 Oxygen sensor 1, bank 1, positive current control - open circuit and it as also throw a P3018 - I have been unable to find any info on this code 3018 (I have double checked this code and it is 3018). The codes happen in moderate driving and all the PIDs associated with these events look normal.
The AFR via the Scan Guage is 14.5 most of the time, except when decelerating, it will drop to 13.9 or so. This is leaner than before the exhaust install.
I have not had any other codes and again the MINI runs good.
Can anyone tell me the cause/meaning of the P2237 code or the elusive 3018?

Yeah, there's a sensor in the stock header that monitors the air, and if there's no cat there it's going to get the wrong readings and throw a code. It should run fine, but unless you put a cat there or an o2 sim you're probably always going to get the code.
If you got the OBX headers (off ebay i'm assuming?) why did you buy a "random tech cat" ? Did you just put it somewhere on the exhaust pipe? I just figure if you're deleting the cat that's actually important there's no use for a 2nd one. Unless you're just doing it to make sure you pass inspection. In that case, there's always someone to buy a sticker from

NO MORE CODES -- NO MORE CELs -- Excuse me for shouting -- but I am a happy camper. The good folks at Gas House Motorworks in Houston got it fixed.
As with many things in life it is the simple things that get you.
Never found the meaning of the 3018 and probably never will.
One of my solder joints on my 02 extension was bad. They repaired the extension and put it back and it runs beautifully. I felt sorta dumb, but as they pointed out interment connections are tough to track, a simple continuity check did not reveal the problem.
