DDM Works Intake
Does anyone have it yet? I'm looking into buying it but I have a question that DDM Works couldn't answer. I'm wondering how high the top of their air box is. In relation to the two boxes on the right side of the engine (fuse box and ecu?), is the CAI higher or lower than those 2 boxes? I just installed my VIP strut brace and I'm trying to figure out if the brace will clear the CAI box or not. I don't really want to give up my brand new brace for the CAI. The picture below shows the brace, does it look like the intake would be low enough for the brace to clear?
Thanks

Drew IMO it looks like it wouldn't clear it. You have to put the silencer back in with it and the silencer sticks up further that the fuse box to the right of it does. You might have to get the VIP2 intake to go with it to take out the silencer and then it should work.

I'm not worried about the silencer because it won't be in there. I would be getting a pipe bent for that section (same as VIP2 but $30 instead of $120). DDM Works emailed me back saying that the box is 7" high from where it's mounted on the bottom so I just have to measure to see how much distance there is between the bottom and the brace.
I can't add anything with the how high the air box is, but regarding clearance..... I have a DDM Street Intake on my R56 S. The top of the intake is not low enough to clear my M7 brace. Cutting an angle out of the front face of the intake housing allowed the brace to fit correctly. After adding a piece of rubber on the cut edge, I have no rubbing or vibrations. Were there is a will, there is a way.
