That's the thing though...you're gonna scrape. It's not doing any real damage or anything....it's just a noise. I scrape coming in and out of my driveway daily.

MINI's are fortunate to have a very shallow overhang both up front and in the rear. We definitely don't have a foot of overhang. The bumper is really only a few inches ahead of the front wheels.

That's true that short overhangs are a big advantage. I still think it's probably a foot from the point at which the speedbump would touch the tire to the front of the bumper, but yeah, for the most part, scraping the plastic under the bumper isn't a problem.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say it's a bad idea... Just trying to figure out how much forethought and such it takes to drive a lowered MINI. I've got a Mustang that's lowered on coilovers that isn't too much trouble for me to drive, but the Mini already scrapes on our driveway and it's at stock height (the little flap that hangs down from the bumper) and my wife will be driving the MINI so she won't want to be worried about scraping all the time. The best solution is probably to go with coilovers and adjust the height a few times to find what works. Oh, and remove that little bumper flap!

I would scrape on my driveway some too, but I have no problems with the TSW Springs and 215/45/17s.

Good to know. How much did the sprigs actually lower the car.

I wish I would have measured actual clearance after switching to the MCS bumper because I'm fairly sure it's lower than before. We never used to scrape our driveway.

They're supposed to be an inch. I didn't measure. It doesn't look much closer to the ground than it was with my 15s, but it got rid of a lot of the wheel gap.

Part of that is due to your tires being too big. That size tire will raise the car.

Do you have any pics of your custom intake? Or a little insight on how you did it? I am tired of waiting around for a company to make one, and don't want to drop a boat load on the 1 option on the market.

Lookin' real low and real nice scott - can't wait for the better pics. Would love to know what ride height you're set at for daily driving - If I recall, coilovers are adjustable... and outta my league!

It's funny - I parked next to a PW today at Best Buy that was identical in almost every way to what my MINI looked like before modding began. What a difference!!!! The first thing I noticed... wheel gap. One of the best things I ever did was getting rid of *that*.

They are BC type R coilovers. I installed them with the help of a friend and brandon h. It wasn't to bad of an install but it took forever.

More pictures with a clean car

Congrats! Couldn't wait to delete the fish gills myself.

Installed my DDM Works CAI today. Had already done the *modified intake silencer* and now with this, I've got a little burble even at idle. I just haven't had a chance to get it out on the road, yet. Can't wait to wake up in the morning.

Got it out today. Holy burble! Louder than I expected and the pick-up is definitely improved. If you're looking for a throaty sound, this is it.

Looks sharp, zamu! Did you change out your lower grille? I've only seen MC's with the same lower grille I have...

I suppose getting the whole bumper is the only way to get the bigger lower grille?
