No - I like the MINI emblem. It will also break up the wideness of that stripe, IMO. I think the only reason it wasn't on when I took that shot is because it was just painted the day before and he wanted it outside to cure.

mini coop - never heard of that tip. Don't know that I would like 'buzzier'...
I'll see what I can find out from my dealer.

I like the low tone of the 2008. My son drives next to me in the 2008 Mini and the sound is definitely higher pitched in my 2012. Thanks for any help and advice.

Back together!

The badges are just too busy so I'll be deleting those once I get it back for good. And I won't post the *side skirt abomination* until I have it fixed.

Thanks! I got them at Out Motoring, my wife gave them to me for Christmas
https://www.outmotoring.com/gen-2-cl...er-lights.html
https://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coo...r_housing.html

I like the subtle change to the look of the car that this gave me. And it took about 5 minutes to install... very quick.

I got the belt line black out tape from them too. I left one bit of it chrome as an accent but i'll black that out as soon as it gets warm outside.

I'm going to be traveling to Germany at the end of the week and i'm going to pick up some black tail light rings while i'm there and maybe headlight rings too.

Thanks DaveKennedy and Albiecrazy. Love your rides! I'm retired and on a pretty tight budget but I splurged and ordered the black mesh grill and blackout belt line kit for my 08 LiB Non S last Thursday from OM. Wish I would have known about the scuttle lenses. I will get them, they look awesome. Washed and quick waxed the car today and looked at how to get the HL and TL rings off to black these out. Shouldn't be a problem. Vinyl , plastidip or paint? That is the question I'm asking myself right now. Any thoughts?

Love the pic. Albie!! Also like where you've positioned your Alta Sticker, I'm stealthing mine (Black) on the Right Passenger Rear Window, had thought about placing it where you have, I also have a White one not installed as of yet...re-thinking that though now that I've seen yours!!

BTW...Alta is a local to me Vendor, I was able to pick up my Rear Sway Bar and Endlinks during a Lunch Hour!!

FWIW I like the vinyl option: I had Detroit Tuned do vinyl on my HL and TL rings in body color and I'm really happy how it looks and I know if I change my mind down the road ever I can just remove the vinyl...but that's pretty unlikely.

Thanks! I should actually change that gray Alta sticker or a white one - it would match up better with the new plate. Ohhhhh, if Alta were a lunch hour trip, I might be broke.

Albiecrazy - How wide is your stripe? I really like the look. Been thinking about doing a similar vinyl stripe on mine.

No problem. The boot isn't done yet. I'm seeing if I can swing the JCW rear bumper before I finish the stripe. Right now I don't think I can swing both the rear bumper and an exhaust so I'm sort of in limbo on which one to do...

Installed the kn apollo with custom 3" silicone tubing to the front. Love the sound and great throttle response.

Don't know what I'm more excited about...
Celebrating my 50th Birthday or for my Birthday Molly is getting Driving Lights installed...I'm thinking...Driving Lights!!
I've been wanting them for over a year now!!

I also bought some PIAA Xtreme White bulbs to go in those Driving Lights!!

Had to e-mail PIAA, my Local Auto Parts Store only gave me 1 set of what I asked for, I got (1pkg.) #168 T10 PN#19172 when I asked for
(3pkgs. total) and (1pkg.) #1156 Type PN#19227 (12V 27W H.227) needed (2pkgs.), only wording I can read on the Label is Xtreme, H.I.D, and PIAA Xtreme White Bulb??

Now I'm not sure I even got the right stuff, except for the H8 Driving Light Bulbs as that was what my SA told me to get. I think the 168 will work for the Turn Signals, but I'm totalling missing all of the bulbs (I think) for the Rear Tail Lights...any ideas??

Sorry to vent...I really am excited, just thought this parts store was different than the others, do you think it's because...here this woman comes in with her Husband, she's doing all of the ordering while her Husband walks aimlessly around the store...he has no interest in Automotive Jargon what so ever!!

Guess I'll go back to buying these from TireRack, at least they didn't screw up the Headlight and Fog Lights I purchased for both Molly and my Husband's 2010 Kia Soul Shadow Dragon SE#3 "SMAUG".

I noticed a few people posting 17" wheels in here, do they fit nicely without any modding? I thought the stock R56 non-S wouldn't fit anything over 16"?

Staggs - you can't generally order a Straight Cooper with anything but 15's or 16's. But 17's fit just fine - I've had 3 different sets of 17's on mine with no modding at all.

Any updates? I'd also love to know how you got those PIAA's in the driving light housings. I have my old set of driving lights and really have to force them open, almost breaking them. There has to be an easier way.

We'll need pics, of course...

Being that Mini offers 17 inch wheels as an OEM option......yes they fit fine. 17 inch and 18 inch are very popular as modding choices.
