Sorry it took so long to get back been out for a while, busy with work and school. Hopefully by now 4 months later you were able to do the mod. The tape coming off shouldn't be a issue due to there being a factory plastic checked'ish mesh that's on the inside of the factory airbox right before it goes into MAF Air sensor. So the tape might block air flow, but won't go into the engine "HOPEFULLY." Many of people have done the tape trick I haven't seen anyone say anything about it coming off as of yet. If you're concerned that it might then Im sure you can just get a cone airfilter and replace the whole airbox period. But just doing the intake alone isn't going to give you a huge change in sound if that's what you're looking for. A little deeper tone yes, while at higher RPMS.

The tape would get blocked by the air filter before it would get anywhere near the the "checked'ish mesh" before the MAF

It's surprising how much of a difference those pedals make isn't it?

It certainly is Drew!! The better part is, I was quoted $100/labor, but when I went to collect Molly it was N/C on the Invoice!!

Hahaha $100 in labor to quickly attach some pedal covers? That would've been rough Pretty sure they just slip on over the pedal, don't they?

No they don't Rally!! The Brake Pedal is the only one that looks like it slips over the existing pedal, but the Gas Pedal has some kind of electronic sensors in it and therefore must be R&R'd, I think the Dead Pedal is the same, not electronics of course, but it is not an over-lay, at least I don't think it is, I was not able to see inside the wrappings of that pedal as well as the Brake Pedal and the Gas Pedal was inside a box.

Charging a $100 bucks for this should be a felony -- The dead plate is held on with clips and just prys on and off. The brake pedal slips on and off. And the gas pedal is whopping one allen screw and one plug in electrical connector.

Haha that's what I was saying. I remember someone installing a set out in the parking lot of a restaurant where we were having a little MINI get together at. Took all of a few minutes to install.

Here we go... finally figured out how to post pics.

Just picked up these rims, as soon as I'm done with finals, I'll sand blast them and repaint them white

Looks good.

Was the bumper a direct swap, or did it require other changes?

Yeah it's been a while. I've been busy with school and found another hobby to play with while Im out here in Spain. Gotta love my RC Cars. But Im finding out they cost just as much to mod and keep up as the Cooper.

a few cosmetic mods

...was going to post in the "what did you do to your MINI today" thread,
..but figured the non-s crew would like better...

...my wife bought this lil' justa new back in 07,
..but it had tiny 15inch wheels, soooo about a yr ago...1 day just
came home with some new ones- she was kinda upset about $...but
easier to beg for forgiveness than ask permission lol.

..just this past week - finally got to some of the chrome black out,
and installed beltline kit, JCW mesh grill & MINI wheel cap decals from
Outmotoring so happy, waiting on my sport stipe kit from them,
..must be on back order.
...inspired by some of you guys awsome Minis on NAM, wish I had more $
to spend on her..
J

Love that color. If it was still available it would have been my first choice.

Not normally a huge fan of the blacked out look, but yours looks nice. Gotta love the JCW grille... Best single exterior mod one could do on a non-S Cooper. I just swapped mine back to stock in preparation for trade-in, and had forgotten just how fugly the stock grille was.

Nice job!

I like the beltline kit. My beltline chrome is looking a little tired, and that may be a great alternative. Where did you get it?
