2 1/4 on the old cooper. I wouldn't think that they would have changed it all that much but I may be wrong.

check out realoem.com. it lists the specific clamp sizes when you look up the exhaust parts.

Well, I took my MINI to a local exhaust place the other day to get measured up for a custom system I'm putting together and they measured it at 1 and 7/8ths inches. So almost 2 inches...

Thanks Texaspaul I went with 2.25 but I have a adapter for the piping so it worked out great.

Thanks, yeah I ordered all the piping and the muffler myself and put it all together. It's good to have such a deep back ground with machanics and fabrication, thanks to the military. LOL. Just got to wait for a day that i can get it welded together. Its a MagnaFlow muffler, I found it online and figured why not try it out and see what happens. The sound is a deeper roar, unlike a lot of the round mufflers that put out that riced out angry bee hive sound. Im happy with the out come of my creation and experimenting. At least i can say I have a one of a kind exhaust.

Here ya go Iwashmycar, still not a finished product yet but something to go off of when I actually do get it all the way finished. It sounds a lot better when actually driving.

I am very impressed with what you've done. Only had my car a couple of weeks but I was dismayed at how many little turns and crimps (not mandrel bent) in the stock - less than 2" pipe.

If you pass anyone here you'll get tailgated to your driveway. I've been followed and yelled at countless times after passing people doing 10 under. Its so annoying, i just wish there were more long open roads here like the one in your video.

Oh god Drew the roads out here are endless on how long you can drive. there are so many to choose from. Twisty and curvy roads only thing that sucks is that the Spanish dont drive to good but at least they get out the way. lol and passing is like a religion out here. There are roads out here that make the dragon look like a mc donalds play land vs a theme park.

I still wonder what it would sound like if I had a straight 2.25" pipe from the bottom of the headers (after the 1st cat) all the way back to a magnaflow or borla muffler.

nope I cut right at the weld in front of the 2nd Cat. so pretty much from the hangers back is 2.25.
