Does anyone here know if I can put an "S" hood on a Non "S" 2007 Mini Cooper?

Not certain, not sure anyone has tried yet for the R56.

It was tried on the older 2002-2006 MINIs.

MINI Cooper S is R53 and Cooper is R50 and each has it's own bonnet or hood which were not interchangable because the shapes were slightly different.

What year MINI do you have?

Looks good-

Hard to argue with success. I thought I read an old post long ago that said someone had tried and the bonnet switch didn't fit. Also with the carbon fiber bonnets that came out, there were different models for R50 vs R53.
I tried searching but didn't find the right thread yet.

Thanks for the post. Does your scoop help with engine cooling or just give you more drag?

well, I made this contraption which fits over the intake. as ghetto as it is it works

I imagine if does give me more drag and probably alittle lift as the MC doesn't have that header heatshield blocking off what air will flow through there. im working on that haha.

as far as those threads go, I've read a lot of them too. I'm not quite sure how accurate the posts are as i have personally done it and seen it done on a couple other cars. I know UKSUV is running the carbon fiber hood on his car as well.

Where are you and what color is your MINI, I may be willing to try if you are local to me and BRG.

I have a 2005 MC(R50), and have put the MCS(R53) hood and bumper as well. They are interchangeable. You can check my gallery for before and after pics. I would imagine the 07 can have it done as well. If in doubt, check with your dealer.

Not sure if that's a good idea. The turbo gets pretty hot.

Might want to double check that because the R53 could not run the R50 bonnet. But there was an intercooler that got in the way. You should should go for it. The worst that could happen is that it wouldn't fit and you would keep the same hood.

From past posts, the hoods of the S and non S are not interchangable. There is a .6 " difference in length and this is in the hood to allow for the turbo.
