i am an exhaust n00b

hey guys so i was in the market for a new exhaust system for my '07 MC and came across the supersprint exhaust. I heard that this was a pretty top notch system but had no clue what the different parts did/were. Can I get some help??

-Front Connecting Pipe (Cat Replacement),
-Front Connecting Pipe (For OEM Cat)
-supersprint Connecting Pipe (Replaces Resonator)
-supersprint Resonator

you should only really need a catback system so it would not replace the front pipes or cat convertor. just bolts on from the cat convertor back to and including the muffler and tailpipe/tip.

not sure how the supersprint descriptors work but, you could always contact customer service and explain what you need if it isn't clearly stated in the description. or just google supersrint catback mini cooper.

other brands that are great: megan racing (i own this one and love it great bang for the buck), blueflame (kassmotorsports i believe), remus (very nice google remus exhaust), playmini (harder to get in the states. but, if you can find one very nice as they have been making exhaust systems for the Mini/MINI for years- expensive to get it shipped here though.)

other brands that get good reviews but, i am personally not fond of: borla and magnaflow.

sure others will chime in. good luck!

remus does have an exhaust for the mini. http://www.remusexhaustshop.com/coop...5_296_297.html
you can even get dual exhaust but you have to modify your rear bumper and remove the spare, which is just dead weight in my books.

I had a shop fab a 3" pipe from the downpipe flange to the stock muffler eliminating the second cat and resonator.Sounds much deeper with no drone. Also noticable torque increase combined with the K&N Apollo COLD air intake.

Will the Remus work on an 08 MC? Am I correct in assuming parts that will work on an 07 Cooper should work on an 08 Cooper?

Well looking at their part numbers, it is different for pre-06 dual exhaust compared to the 06 and up. Make sure you get the proper one.

Hey guys, PFM is (being abducted into) helping with research on Non-S exhausts. See this posting:
