Exhausts

Can we do a survey of members' exhaust set ups?
Does anyone have a good after-market muffler lying around for sale?

Let me start the survey:

1. Eric - all stock exhaust (wanting a little louder sound, he, he)
2.

Jon - Milltek cat-back exhaust. More deeper bass, throatier, more authoritative, a little bit louder than stock, but by no means the loudest on the market. Bought it from Webb Motorsports. Very good quality, all stainless, fits great. I'm very happy with how it sounds and looks!

i have the SuperSprint straight pipe with no silencer & a SuperSprint muffler. i should've got the muffler with the center exit (like an S) but i think that will result in almost no backpressure, making my Mini slower (please correct me if i'm wrong)

I too have the Milltek catback, paired up with the Alta CAI for more in - more out. I had some install problems as the Milltek is evidently a fit-all model years product. The right hangers did arrive but it helped to have a local shop cut and weld a little to get the main pipe to clear the underside. Love my Milltech too

I put in a Milltech catback a few weeks ago (see the thread) I love it and mine came with both sets of hangers (I have an o04 MCS)

If I could do it anyone could...only problem was getting the 2 bolts off the OEM where the pipe attached to the Cat,,,Milltech fitment was perfect.

I thing the OP was looking for ClubMINI.ph member's exhaust setups. It's great the everyone is eager to reply, but we all need to be more aware of where these posts are (the fine print right under the subject of the recent posts)

I take it this is how you wanted this to go?

1. Eric - all stock exhaust (wanting a little louder sound, he, he)
2.Justin- magnaflow exhaust (looking for headers that I can keep the stock cat)

GTV: i had freemuff make me an all-stainless catback for my R53, cost me P15,000 (or $342 in today's exchange rate) thanks to Joseph. took them a couple of hours to do it. making the muffler was actually the longest part. i only had them make a single-muffler system as it would be lighter and cheaper of course

the specs are:

2.5" stainless steel piping all the way to the muffler (no resonator)
2.5" stainless steel piping from the muffler to the Y-pipe (for the tips)
two 3" stainless steel tips

they sound great and very throaty. my only regret is getting the Y-pipe straight. i think my prob is similar to the early "problems" of the Alta Sportone system wherein the driver's side tip is the only one "burned". might have them redo it or just paint the tips in flat-black
