Thanks for the kind words guys. Mad Dog was born Feb. 7th, 1962 and originally it was OEW Austin 850 Standard model. I bought it on Dec. 1985 and it's nearing completion of it's 2nd extreme makeover since I've owned it with this time around getting a new front nose panel, fenders, hood, door skins, inner & outer rocker panels, complete new floors, a used MK1 trunk lid and a new rear valance panel. All new Newton Commercial interior kit with molded capet kit was installed and seats were reupholstered by Beto's Upholstery in Arlington. Car was painted New MINI Pepper White with Black roof panels and painted on Hood stripes. Body & paint work was done by Qwik Paint & Body on North Main in Ft. Worth. All new weatherstrips and moulding have been installed. The 1293 A+ engine is currently being put together with new pistons, MD266 cam kit and all new chain & gears on an all synchro 4 speed 3.44 tranmission. It also has new suspension and front & rear subframes with KYB gas shocks and 7.5 Cooper S brakes with Aeroquip braided hoses. Can't wait to have it all put back together and back on the streets.
Regards,
CasaMini

Great looking car... Welcome to the Madness

Terry- That's a tough question because "fully restored" could mean a lot of different things. I would take a look at the MiniMania site in their "cars for sale" section. There are a lot of by owner cars for sale as well as dealer listings. (Pay particular attention to the WestPAMinis site on the dealer page... great guys and if you have a spec in mind I would touch base with them to get their thoughts.)

As far as what it will cost... for something that would be in any sort of condition I would concider "restored" (meaning cosmeticly nice, interior attended to, with great mechanics) you are looking at at least $10ish and up depending on model engine and such. That is not to say that you can't get into a very good classic for less but it will have things that need to be worked out IMHO. Prices have really gotten a pretty good bid of late it seems.

Good luck and let me know if I can help in your search in any way.

How much?

Here's another place to look for some price info http://turkys.com/

I'm not recommending him - only saying there's pictures, descriptions and prices. He's a dealer so the prices may be a bit higher than you can get private.

That said, many have had good luck getting a car from the UK shipped in. Shipping is under $1000 (well it was 2 years ago). As long as it is 25 yoa you can bring it in...

I'd have to say I never thought I'd like a white car till I got my classic. Now there are 2 others here on this thread that look really nice as well. Beautifull restoration cars, I would love to see 'em in person sometime.
