As the newsletter editor and secretary of Mini Owners of America, Los Angeles – arguably the second oldest Mini club in the world – part of my job involves taking care of the club’s archives. I found this photo last night. I would guess it was taken circa 1965. These guys look as though they should be on Lambrettas battling Rockers in Brighton!
Great picture. What fun for you to go through the old stuff. Do you know who they are? And have you found anything interesting that shows some of today's present members back in the day?
As long as we're showing old pictures, here's one from 1972. A young me with my first Mini. This was a brand new Authi 1275GT on the day I picked it up. You can see the plastic still covering the back seat. Site is the BOQ parking lot, Naval Station, Rota, Spain. I have this picture in the side window of my '04 MCS.
Great pix, guys! Rick, the guy in the foreground of your piccie resembles my hubby when he was that age, if he'd been placed on the rack, and stretched out a tad! Muwah ha ha! AuthiMini...that is really a cool little Mini!!
