A Very Sad Morning

I sold my baby this morning. I was supposed to grow old with this car but... I am happy that it went to a good home but very, very sad to see it gone. I can't even look in my empty garage. The good news is that my new S gets a cosy garage to park in now.

Here is a photo of it driving away with the new owner at the wheel.

Aw, Rick....so sorry, sweetie. Are you going to replace it with an '05 MCSC?

Not this year but I am hoping to in the future. I just told my friend that I went from being biminial to monominial in one day and I am now suffering from post traumatic mini seperation anxiety. She told me to seek therapy.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

However if you mini went to a good home then you are...

Spreading the mini cheer to another family which is great!

Anyway your beloved mini looks great and can't help others enjoy it like you did.

MINI will have to just make an even better MINI by 2007 so you can have even more fun.

Rick - I know how you feel! I sold my 1960 Mini back in August, and there has been a hole in my garage (and my heart) since. Mine went to a good home as well - but I WILL have another someday!

Hang in there, buddy!

I got $13,300 (nearly $10,000 less than I had into it!) It's a bummer but I never expected to recoup my investment. My next Mini is going to be a V-Tec car such as this: http://www.caranddriver.com/article....&page_number=1

Or else a bog standard 850.

Rick,

What am I missing this article? 220 hp? some MINIs have that just easier to mod?

That being asked...I would like one too.

Actually, had business not slowed down I would have bought it. It was one great looking Mini.

Some MINIs have that much power but they don't weigh 1,300 lbs or handle as well as the old Minis! A standard early Cooper S only had about 65hp but can still run circles around most modern cars! Add a six speed, a lighter drivetrain, and 145 horsepower to that and you have a very dangerous combo!

Rick - so sorry to see your baby go. We've been looking to add a Mini to the family and would have loved to adopt yours, but the timing/location just wasn't right. I spent many an hour staring at it in the marketplace though. Glad to hear it went to a good home in the end.

Sounds like good medicine!

Alternately take one M3 engine, tranny and front / rear suspension and throw it under a MINI body!

That should do the trick also but at much more cost!
