I thought this would be a good idea too, you would have to fabricate the mounts but as the Capn said, anything is doable.....I don't think the airbag presents a danger as long as there's no electricity to it.
I put a Miata seat on the driver's side in my Clubman Estate for long trips, it was SO much more comfortable and I could move it back further due to the way I mounted it.

Thanks! I am hoping I come across someone who has did it already a bracket should be easy. What I really want is to fabricate the rear seats too which I think will take the most time. The air bags will not cause a problem because they are not connected but I think it would be pretty cool to hook up the heated seats! I really hope someone stumbles across this who has done a swap cause I wanna see pictures

the inflator gizmo is in there ..... a chemical gas generator. I respect things that go boom; sometimes they go boom when not expected to.
I just would feel remiss had I not mentioned it.

The biggest problem doing this is supplying enough current, to do that you'll need a whole new circuit - fused and with the correct relay.....depending on where you live and how cold it gets there, I might just let this idea go....
