Austin Cooper S FIA Racer Built By BMW Group Classic

45 photos from bigblogg.motoring linked below of the immaculate new classic FIA racer Austin Mini Cooper S Mk1 commissioned by BMW and built and prepared by Friedrich Nohl of BMW Classic Division. First outing in the UK should be at the Goodwood Revival

BMW also recently added the Works Rally Replica 363 GYP to their growing historic classic Mini collection which already includes the ex-works Mini JBL 493D as built by Richard Skidmore and featured on the cover of Miniworld in January. Rauno Aaltonen is booked to drive the car on various future historic rallies.
Apparently there were no takers for 363 GYP when first offered for sale, so it then went to auction at H&H but failed to reach its reserve.....which is when BMW stepped in and bought the car for their classic Mini collection.
Auction Listing - not sold:

Something tells me you won't see this car on eBay anytime soon.

Very nice but it sure looks like there is not enough clearance over the front fender. It looks like the wheel will surely rub. Optical illusion?
