Thanks Freebies about my son's wrist. But besides having a splint on, we've all forgotten he's even broken it. It doesn't hurt him ~it's a concussion fracture, so only part of the bone is actually broken & doc thinks it will heal in a months time better than original equipment. It's on his left arm, he's right handed, so it only seems to impede things like dishes, laundry, picking up his room... you know...

Hope everyone is doing ok- I'm trying to get ready for FutureMini to show up here tomorrow night on his way to the Dragon. Really wish I was going.. <sigh> But I'm gonna be a good girl and stay home with the kiddos (tee hee hee)...

Gotta run- I think I'm burning the candle at both ends! (yawn)

Well good news - I managed to fly to Fairbanks (and back) without having any real issues with motion sickness. Sure, I was medicated at the time...but that's definitely an improvement over my last airplane trip.

Vivi - sorry to hear your son injured his wrist. Hope he has a speedy recovery! Did you ever hear back from the dealer about Mocha?

Anyway...busy morning here in the office... Wishing everyone a good day!

Hey D, Hi Freebies!
Quick update- FutureMini came breezing thru on his way to The Dragon. Spent last night here and left after a HUGE breakfast at the Loveless Cafe in Nashville, this morning. I tried to show him some of my daily twisties ...
Mocha is back with me. Dealership said I must have run over a plastic bag that melted on my exhaust (but they can't be sure). They ran it, drove it, let it sit running, put it up on the lift, etc and can't find anything... Hmmm... they offered to keep it and keep running tests on it, at which point I said I'd just take her home and if it happened again, I'd get the camera rolling.
Gotta hit the hay- been a long week. David should return on Friday night. I'm exhausted- ciao and sorry I'm going to miss any of y'all at MOTD.
<exit, stage... snore>

Oh, and no skating for me yet. But I'm doing lots of other things around the house (landscaping/getting rid of stuff/organizing) and I just finished my semester for art classes. The D is going well... slow... but still going so I am happy about that.

Hal- Have fun at MOTD! I didn't even realize it was that time already.

And I am totally harnessing the power of the Universe... so... ummm... ... Life is GOOD!

Cab...you are to Funny!! Yes, the incision is on my Left Side, Hubby guesstemates my scar to be approx. 18", it starts just below my left Scapula and runs around to about 2" under my (AK...close your Ears!! ) Left Breast.

The unfortunate part is that it is the side that I normally sleep on...IF I could get some sleep. I thought the Wedge was a Sleep Killer, but I was awake 'til after Midnight last night and the night before not much better. I had been sleeping in a bit, maybe that was it, but hey...I'm 'supposed' to be Healing...right??!! And in about 25min. I should be taking a Nap...I know, I'm NOT a Little Kid anymore, but the Naps are also part of the healing process, I've learned.

Oh, and Cab...not that I don't appreciate the offer of a Massage, but I am EXTREMELY Ticklish and don't think I can do Massages. I'd be Happy to let you try if we weren't some 3,??? Miles apart.

And since you like Updates, I passed My 5 Weeks Post-OP on Wednesday!!

RJ - I am also extremely ticklish! A friend of mine got me a gift certificate for a massage and I really avoided using it for quite some time. I finally broke down and used it. I made sure to let the masseuse(?) know about how ticklish I am, and she worked in such a way that the tickle alarms never went off. I was completely amazed that she managed to do that. I'll be going back in for another one at some point soon.

You feelin' down, RJ?? I hope you get a good nap - seriously, I'm pretty positive I underestimated the power of naps. I wish I never turned down any of those naps when I was a kid!!!! Feel better, babe.

Thanks UhOh!!

Not really feelin' down...just wish I could sleep at night, feel better than I do during the day and now I've got a Tummy Bug!!

Trust me, Naps ARE where it's at!! My naps are not usually the 30-45min. naps either, they are a 2-2.5hr. Nap and DON'T wake me up or you will have your head taken off!!

Ps. Hopefully you all notice that I've become a NAM Alliance Member and our New Sig. with Molly's new Mods.!!

hi all, I just had to read 1 1/2 pages to catch up.
Cabby, love the photos!
Ola, Hubby driving and Mr. Cab in front seat taking photos. Hubby's a great driver, a little slow but careful. I on the other hand I am very crazy when someone else is driving Nugget, and yes my temper went off a time or two trying to get him to listen to instruction about playing the cd.... (Cab don't say what your thinking, I can hear you laughing all the way up here)

AK - glad the plane trip went ok, but what did they say?

Hal- did you have fun at the Dragon??
RJ- Naps are good...
Hey X - have you become friends with your neighbors? Once you do you can steal their lawn art and they won't suspect you!

TN, slow down, maybe you need a nap too.

Vivi...I am SO glad you Posted Today, I was just talking to my Dad a little bit ago, he told me about the awful Rain, he doesn't live there but his Sister, BiL, and my Cousin do. He said they live on a hill so they are OK, but most likely wont be able to travel into the lower lying areas for awhile. Can't someone find a way to turn OFF the Water Works??!!

Please keep us posted...if you can...AND remember your Freebie Family cares and if you need anything...like Rescuing...we're there!!

Thanks RJ and the rest of the Freebies. I think we have everything we need (I buy in bulk, including toilet paper). Our phones are down, but internet is up... About to go see if we can saw/push/dig our neighbors out...
The Opryland Hotel & Convention Center evacuated 1500 people yesterday and now has 4 feet of water in their lobby...
This is TOTALLY insane!

Luckily our part of Tennessee is fairly dry compared to Nashville and ares west of there. We only got about 5.5" of rain over the weekend.

On a lighter note, this year's MOTD was probably one of the driest. First time in the history of MOTD the panoramic photo was rain free.

We made two runs of the Dragon; one with the Dragon Parade and another Saturday afternoon with Greywolf40. With one end of the Dragon blocked off traffic was WAY down from last year. Made things quite enjoyable.

We're looking forward to next year. Hopefully more of the Freebies will be able to make it then.

Hey AK!!

I am so glad that you posted this,,, any M.T. worth their salt should be able to adjust their techinque to avoid tickling, even on the worst, most ticklish client..
RJ-- don't rule out a good massage, esp. Myofascial Release,,my client with that very same incision and yes, it is def. like 18 inches,, came to me after the Physical Therapist referred her. It really helped her pain...

So glad to hear your updates,, you really ARE Superwoman!!

Tabs? Be CAREFUL girl!

Vivi...I'm thinking you guys ought to have the full scuba gear stashed in the entryway mudroom alongside the muck boots and spare jackets. With you always being in danger of flooding, and now the 78*....Does this mean you're NEVER out of hot water?? HAHAHHAHAHAH!!! (ok, so it's early-ish and I haven't had enough coffee yet....)

Happy Day, Freebies!

It's a beautiful day here in Kodiak...and I can't find any excuse to do anything work-related outside. Such a shame!

I'm all alone in this section of the office - my supervisor is off for at least a week (he and his wife just had their 2nd child) and both analyst/programmers are out. While I like the peace and quiet, it does get kinda lonely in here. lol

Vivi - I hope everything is looking better for you out there. Stay safe and keep us posted when you can!

RJ - whoa! Be careful and try to take care of yourself! I know putting new tabs on a car is a seemingly easy task, but don't hurt yourself trying to do it...it's not worth it! Glad to hear that your pain is a bit more manageable though!

Anyway, gotta get going on some work projects. Hope you all have a happy thursday!

RJ?? Scraping tabs off of things??? You need to take a step back, there, girlfriend!!

You made me laugh about the Myofascial comment... am still laughing. Well, it would be great if you could find someone to perform MFR (that is the easy way to say it) for you. A lot of the Physical Therapy Clinics offer it and it is super soothing and gentle. It just helps the scar tissue to from along the natural lines of the muscle fibers and is less annoying in the long run.

But you sound like you are doing well,, keep up the good work and sorry to hear you still have pain and trouble sleeping.

My client had Mitral Valve problems, initially the Dr's did a standard repair, then when that failed ( within weeks) they opened her up again and did a valve replacement using a bovine valve. Then,, months later she got an infection around her heart ( long freaky story,, not a normal occurance) so they went in after she was stable enough and replaced the bovine with a mechanical valve. This was the one where they accessed through the ribs on the left side.

Since then she has had 2 more surgeries, this poor lady has really had a horrible long line of bad luck,,, but hopefully this last surgery has finally resolved everything. She flew to the Mayo Clinic for this last surgery in February. She was so impressed with their facility and her care.
So! That is her story in a nutshell. The scary part of this story is that she is now only 59 years old!! She has been through so much!!
So, I have lots of old scarring to keep me busy when working with her.

Ok,, Freebs.. back to the regularly scheduled program.. haha

Vivi!! I am still sending you dry thoughts and prayers,, not only for you but your entire state,,, we love you, be safe!

UHoh,,, LOL!! I should take her my scuba gear,,,, you are such a brat!!

Things are good with me. Busy, but good. Glad it finally warmed up enough for the kids to start getting in the pool. It helps them to get their energy out and makes them a lot more compliant come bedtime! Our 20 month old has been doing a lot of modeling of her brother and is now swimming all the way across the pool without assistance. She has a really funny stroke that looks more like a frog. I'll have to video it this weekend. Quite funny to watch.

AK sounds like you've got things covered!! I don't want Molly L@@KING Trashy with 3 Tabs on her, if I can't get them off, then I'll have no choice but to put the new one on top of the 2 that are already there. But I have learned that I may need something a little more powerful than WD40...But what??!!

I read Hubby your post, he was like me...*jaw dropping*, wow, you're client certainly has been put through the wringer.

UPDATE...I am "FREE"...the Dr. cleared me Today to drive the Molly Car!! He checked me over good, talked with US for quite a bit, said that my scar is the longest scar done due the area they had to access. And that it is the one to take the longest to completely recover from. Approx. 3 months.

I will be going back to work on June 1, I bought my Daughter a plane ticket to come for a week's visit, Hubby will be traveling for 4 Days later this month and We thought it would be great for US to reconnect since it has been about 3 years since I've seen her.
