Some photos of my new gal

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v6...lassic%20Mini/

I am thinking a gray scale Union Jack, silver bonnet stripes and four yellow rally lights. Also thinking that I will remove the chrome edging but not sure what to put back on there?

She's got cooper s disc brakes, 1300 cc motor manual tranny, adjustable hi los (suspension converted wet to dry), new carpet, new seats, electronic ignition, new wiring harness, braided brake lines, all the brakes have been rebuilt, cooper s recline seats, wood dash, adjustable tie rods, halogen lights, new tires, super cool 2 core radiator, new grille, RC 40 stainless steel exhuast, resto was completed in 2002 at that time they replaced the two front fenders and a panels

Let me know what ya think! I love her already!

If you remove the chrome seam covers, just leave them off. All the Minis I owned had the seams bare except for paint.

Nice looking Mini btw.

Nice mini, but too much chrome for my taste.

Thanks for the compliments, I think you are right with just taking them off and leaving them off. I've looked at pictures without them on and I think they look much nicer. I will also be removing the GB badge off the boot. I like chrome but there is a little bit too much bling going on for me! Hopefully the seams underneath won't be too rusty.

Oh! the rims are Cosmics, off a 68 Mini. I like them too

nice ride- it has a LOT of potential, are you planning on modding it or keeping it stock?

Cars of your vintage actually look pretty good IMHO with NO arches, particularly if you run 10" wheels (looks like you are). Or, you can just put on the basic "Metro" style black plastic ones - simple and understated, and only slightly more aggressive than none at all - here's a shot of them on my car (against 12" Minilite-style wheels, mind you):

I'd also go with painted external door hinges to match the rest of the car, but that may just be me - they don't look bad as-is, but they could look better painted IMHO (for whatever that's worth).

Thanks for the photo, love your Mini! I think that is the first picture I have seen of it. I def. will be removing the arches and sticking with the 10s, being it is a true 1967 I want to stick with more period specfic mods if I do anything. Basically stuff that will blend in with the styling. So the back arches were something I considered but I do like the fenderflareless look. I think it will depend on the condition underneath on what direction I will go. I have also considered the gray scale union jack for the roof with gray bonnet stripes and I know one must have will be the four rally lights across the front, now just to find them at the best price! We'll have to see about those hinges, they are aluminum and could stand a good polishing and maybe once the rest of the chrome is removed it might be flattering.

I am really excited to be picking it up this Sat. got the 6 by 12 trailer reserved, not sure how I will get the car up the ramp and then get out being it is that it has slider windows I can't crawl out the window, might have to push it on the trailer.

One of the main reasons I am so happy with this guy is because of the solidness of the car, I really did not want to get into a rust situation where I would be replacing floors or sills or some of the other scary areas that Minis rust at.

The U-haul trailers (if that's what you're using) have tilt-down wheel coverings to give you room to exit the car - I was able to open my door wide enough to edit with no problems. If you don't have this feature on your trailer, then yeah, you might want to investigate pushing it up.

TIP: If you can get to a place where you can drive the Mini up onto the grass, you can back the trailer up to a curb, then extend the ramps onto the curb itself - this will lead to the ramps being lifted several inches, and they'll be much more horizontal than they would be against the street. This would make pushing it up MUCH easier.

Getting it DOWN afterwards will be trickier, I think... If you have 3-4 guys, it will be cake either way - just don't let it roll over your foot.

I've pushed my car onto it's trailer by myself (there's usually plenty of help available if you want it). the vintage race car doesn't weight all that much. probably about the same as a street version so it shouldn't be that difficult for you. just be prepared to stop it rolling when you get up on the trailer. The same trick will work for getting it off the trailer but, once again, don't let go! Good luck! btw, the car looks terrific!

I left the seller a message to get the inner wheel to wheel dimension to make sure it will span a car hauler uhaul trailer. If not then we will stick to our original plan of the 6 by 12 flatbed uhaul trailer and use ramps to push it up or maybe put it real far to one side and I can squeeze out. I am getting worried through they are forecasting ice for tomorrow, I just hope it clears out before Saturday or I will be really bummed!

I towed my '76 home in the middle of winter from beautiful South Carolina. Ended up in a blizzard about the time I hit the Ohio border. Made it home in good shape and actually tracked very well in the snow with the extra weight. Just take your time and it will be all good... something to tell the grandkids about somewhere down the road...

The Uhaul trailers have their own brakes, which really helps in bad weather. I did the majority of my trip home form NJ in pouring rain and it was rock solid. Just go sloooow.

I got it figured out and want to thank you all for the help, she will fit on the uhaul car hauler like was mentioned and that is what we are going to use. The weather here is something awful although should be clear tomorrow, I am a little upset because she will get pretty nasty on the trip home but I have an attached garage that has heat so I plan on washing her as soon as I get home. Wish me luck, I can't wait to get some (better) pictures to show everyone!

I never did that, but I was under a Mini on a jack on damp dirt and the car started to fall over on me. I was under the engine area replacing a busted universal joint. Amazing how adrenaline gives you strength. I pushed the car back up on the jack, got out from under the car, let it down and went looking for some jack stands.

Yeah it hurt. I was only wearing tennis shoes. Good thing I didn't give her enough umpf to get her over my foot and she rolled back off.
