D-Series VTEC MiniTec Pickup joining the fleet

10/14/08 update:
Getting closer to owning more than just digital photos of this project... The pictured seats are not the final ones. Currently waiting on the upholstery shop to do their magic w/Miata seats.

Do your days keep getting longer waiting on your pickup to get done? And does a mid October delivery date mean anywhere from October 1st to the end of the year?
On another note I got my pickup up and running again, just around town anyway. Still waiting on more parts for longer drives, should be here today.

Actually looks like I'll be picking it up at the end of the month. I plan to drive it back. The MiniTec testdrives are yielding happy results--65 mph cruising speed at 3300rpm. Smooth, QUICK ride, cold A/C... sounds great to me.
Hey, didn't you get a Line-x bed coating? Was it the color-matching Line-X Xtra product? That's what I'm considering and I'm hoping your product is the same. Your quoted price is very appealing. Did you see the recent post by Minipapu? Just purchased a pick-up and having it shipped stateside. That's cool. Maybe someday we could host a "national" meet for pickups. If we're lucky, we could fill a row at a Sonic Drive-In

One day I look forward to joining you.

Where abouts is Minipapu located East, West, coast or somewhere in the middle like us?
Marginal Update:
Due to cost and time constraints, I ditched the color-matching Line-X bed liner product and will go with a black-colored brand called Herculiner. Reviews of the Herculiner material indicates that it is thicker and more rubber-like than Line-X, which in my case is good because the bed has plenty of dings & scrapes to cover up.

Minipup is the truck from Hawaii.
MiniPappu is the new owner in LA.(that I found out later)
If you do go with the Herculiner make sure you rough up the finish first where you apply it so it will stick better.

I am definitely in on that!
It's official, the pup has arrived! Thanks to MINIdave for co-piloting our adventure from Royston to the Dragon, then back across the blue highways home.
A case of good ear plugs, advil and marginal fast food made for an interesting trip.
Stay tuned for more details...

dimini,
I see by MINIdave's picture you are already parking beside the bigger trucks for that comparison shot.
Believe me that the looks that you get now don't even compare to what the new MINI used to get. What mpg did you get on the way back?
