Just got my MCS!!!!!

Hi, I am new to here and I just picked up my MCS few days ago. I bought it from Bill Jacobs but I just wondering can I go to schaumburg's dealer to do all my service? but when I picked up my mini, the guy told me that it's best to me to go back to the Bill Jacobs to do my first 6 services, is that true? and does anyone know if I go to schaumburg one, do I still get the free car wash as they said if I go back to Bill Jacobs.
And also, just want to say HI to you ALL !!

Welcome! Where in chicago are you? And yes any mini dealer can do your services. As for the car washes you have to work that out with Patrick.

Also Jacobs will give you a loaner when you take your MCS in for service.

Welcome, hope to see you for the Rock Run. Got pics?

I think that's funny that he said "6 services." I hope you don't have 6 service calls within the next 20,000 miles. LOL.

I bought from Jacobs but service (mostly) with Knauz. And, wash your own car.... You'll want to!

Join the www.chicagominiclub.com and introduce your Mini to everyone. And, as Paul said, post pictures!

Congratulations on your new car!! Tell us about it!

And, welcome!

Woo....thank you for your replies!!!

Yes, I have upload some pics. in my gallery and I am living in schaumburg. I will join the chicagominiclub.com....thanks for the info.!!!

ChicagoMINI> So, you mean if I go back to Jacobs for my services, then they will borrow me the car, is that right?

And I have heard some ppl saying that I need to go get a "clear coat/wax" done from a shop so that it would keep the car shiny, is that true? if so, do any of you prefer me to go??

And how often do you guys wax your car??

That will be a whole other toic, I am sure. I wax with Zaino about 4 times a summer and maybe twice in the winter. I have heard it is possible to wax too much, but I am sure someone else will have a good post on NAM talking about the best ways to do it. (I have never had the dealer do a polish -- frankly I didn't know that they did).

See you soon.

Six Services? That would be like 75K miles WAY out of your free maintenaince period.

You can go to ANY MINI dealer for the free service period

BTW, NEVER let any car dealer wash your car. You will regret it.

Welcome equator81 Looks like the guys already rolled out the welcome mat

Definiitely check out the CMMC site for upcoming events. The Rock looks to be lots of fun! Can't wait. Hope you can make it out to meet the guys!

I probably don't wax as often as I should... I simply enjoy the ride
