I have linked this post in to the Chicago MINI Motoring Club website as well.

 

I think I was the only MINI there for one of the days, ended up hanging out with the S2000 guys, who were very cool...It would be really nice for some more MINI's to make it out there--Mark runs a nice event. I'm hoping MVP will make it out to Blackhawk again in 2010.

And I think they have a professional blinker fluid installer there, if you're running low....

 

I do need that blinker fluid changed.

I did my first drivers school with the Windy City BMW club at Gingerman last year.
I had a really great time, pushed myself and my car harder than I thought I would, got about as fast on the straights as I was comfortable with (just into redline in 3rd gear on my Cooper), and realized there is lots of room to improve in cornering, track lines and entry speed.
That said, I am not sure if I will do another or not, mainly due to additional costs outside the track fees (non-motorcycle helmet, wear and tear on the brakes and tires) and risk of damage to my car. I'll just have to wait a bit and see when I'm ready..

 

A quick 2010 Midwest schedule update. We have added Road America October 16-17. Hope to see you all at the track.

I've received a number of e-mails and calls asking about entry fees for MVP Track Time's (www.MVPTrackTime.com) 2010 Midwest track events. They are on our web site as well, so no one is "surprised”. The 2010 dates and entry fees are listed below.

April 10 - 11: Putnam Park - SOLD OUT!

June 7: Autobahn Country Club (FULL 3.56 mile track) - SOLD OUT!

August 9: Autobahn Country Club II (FULL 3.56 mile track) - $245

October 16 - 17: Road America
$375-Weekend
$250-Single Day

For what it's worth, the Chicago Region Porsche Club is hosting a full track DE at Autobahn on June 9th ($200) and the south track on July 14th ($180). Open to everyone. Registration at www.clubregistration.net
