Some of us still do wave!!

I got a return wave yesterday from a CR/W MC heading northbound on Waukegan a bit north of Lake street.

 

Just got back from Chicago and while standing at the Fairmont hotel parking area on the part of Columbus that goes underground I saw a PS/PS S with an aero kits and black stripes and a LY/W Cooper.

And while riding the shuttle back from the auto show this afternoon I saw THREE parked on one block. Right in front of Millenium park I saw a BRG/W and then a Silk Green on the same side of the road and then I looked across and saw a Cool Blue convertible. :smile:

 

My wife and I spotted a Pepper White and Black Cooper on LSD on our way home from the Auto Show Saturday night. We were in out Hyper Blue and White MCS. Was that anyone here?

 

Having divested ourselves of our MINI, my wife and I have seen more MINI's in a day in NW IND. then we would normally see in two months when we had one. The desire to honk and wave seems overpowering sometimes. So...if you are driving in the Chicago area and someone in a Saturn ION RedLine with License Plate "G4 MINI" honks and waves it's just us reMINIsing. We still have a couple of things common with the MINI, Eaton supercharger, Getrag transmission, MINI clothes, memories and Smiles.

As our CMMC dues are paid thru August, we'd really like to do the Millie's drive again. We really enjoyed the first one. Foreign cars welcome?

Spotted an '05 PS/B Cooper heading eastbound on the Ike this morning. I waved, but didn't get a response, heavy traffic and all.

IB/B MCS!!! with S-lites at HomeDepot ElkGrove around 5:15pm. I parked next to you...silver civic (my beater).

I spotted a silver cabrio entering GasCity higgins/plum grove this around 3pm or so. You went CRUNCH! while entering the station... ya?

I was getting sad that I wasn't seeing any Mini's during my regular comute. Then the other day I pulled at a light in Palatine and a CR/? pulled up behind me with a guy and girl and we both sort of put on happy smiles and waved. Really made my day.

Then, I've been seeing this PS/B MC at work (huge parking lot). On two days, it ended up parking right next to me (I think he was trying to tell me something ). I was meaning to leave a note, but never had paper or a pen. So, today finally, I parked next to him and left a note. Let's see if I get a reply Monday.

Dundee Rd 10am heading west from Baldwin in Palatine.. You were
behind me in my silver G35C for about a block then turned into the
shopping center after passing Rand.

Those IB/Blks are the best....(im a little biased).

 

I was cruisin' around the schaumburg area for like 2 hrs today..I didnt see a single MINI...for about 30min. I was driving around actually trying to find a MINI owner driving../sigh

i did see a lot of crotch rockets, and obnoxiously loud trans-ams and mustangs though...

1 x BRG MC at Lakeside Outlet Stores on I94
1 x PS/B MC at Gurney Mills
2x IB/B at Navy Pier in downtown Chicago.

Hey All!!! I finally joined the forums......I'm 'cspuryear' over at Mini2.

I'm in an IB/B Cooper S and I live in Schaumburg. I was out cruising on Saturday, saw too many to remember all of the colors

 

Nice, that makes 3 IB/B MINIs (Kenchan, me, and now CtothP ) in the Schaumburg area..we def need to get together over the summer.

 

IB/B rocks! hope i can get a hold of a hamann rear
diffuser by then...been wanting to get one for so long.

 

My HB MCSa has an estimated delivery at Bill Jacobs on 4/10 I live in Bartlett however, (happened to be in Naperville and test drove and put my order in down there). I will post and let you know when its in and see if we can have a small meetup somewhere.

 

You guys just let me know the time and place!!!!
