Going in for a test drive tomorrow...advice?

This will be my daily driver, should I be worried about anything with this car?

How do you think the pricing looks? I was thinking the dealer would come down at least $500-$1K for this bad boy.

Look in the marketplace here on NAM and do your own comparison. Seems kinda high to me.

Except for the red leather (subjective), great looking car! The dealer is BMW/Mini so I assume they've cleaned up the car so well that you probably won't see anything wrong with it. I would request a print out of the service history. Test everything... A/C, stereo, electronics, lights, steering, braking. Look for leaks, for major dents/damage of the undercarriage, weird noises.

2007 is the first year of the 2nd Generation, which has the new PSA engine. So far the biggest problem I've heard is the diesel-like "rattle" from the head that comes on during cold temp starts. I think it has something to do with the Variable Valve Timing. (Don't know if Mini has resolved this. You might want to post questions in the 2nd Gen forum.)

Price wise it's a bit on the high side (IMO)... but you have to consider supply/demand of your region. A year ago, I got my '06 MCSc (28,000 mi) with options (Sports, Premium, Cold Weather, Chrono, LSD) for about the same price but "out-the-door". I think the manager decided to let it go since it had been sitting on the lot for 3-4 months.

Good luck to ya!

Decided not to go with this as the miles being so high just scare me. I am now shopping for a new Mini

Yea, a little pricey. I got an 06 cabriolet with every possible JCW option including the strut brace and all the carbon fiber bits, plus all the other options except nav for 24,500. And it only have 12,500 miles on it.

Look for a good, low mileage 06 1st gen car as well. They're great.

You don't need a NAV...this is still a small compact econo car.
