Blanchard Caverns Drive-August 23rd
AMOK is having a drive to Blanchard Caverns, north of Mountain View, AR on Saturday, August 23rd. We will meet at the Cabot McDonald's which is located at the first Hwy 5 exit in Cabot on Hwy 67. Meeting time is 8:30 AM and leaving time will be 9:00 AM. Our route will be north on Hwy. 5 to Rosebud, then swing through Greer's Ferry and on up to Mountain View. We will have lunch at JoJo's Restaurant on the White River. After that we will head to the caverns. They are sooooo cool and feel sooooo good in the summertime.
The cost per person is $10.00 and $5.00 for kids. If we have more than 15 people we will get a group discount.
After the caverns tour we will head home swinging over to Hwy 65 for the trip back. Please RSVP aprilrain51@sbcglobal.net by Thursday, August, 21st to let me know how many. It was recommended that we get reservations for the caverns as they are usually busy on the summer weekends. Hope you can join us.

Depending on when/if I get hired on at this new job, I should be able to go. If I'm working by that point, my schedule will be erratic, but hopefully I'll have that Saturday off. Mark will too, so maybe we'll actually be able to join you guys this time!
We now have 13 people signed up for the Blanchard Drive. Anyone who plans on coming try to bring a 2-way radio with you. It helps with communication on the drive, if you can stand the corny jokes.
CORRECTION ON WHICH EXIT TO TAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Take the first Cabot Exit which is Exit 16A. The Hwy 5 Exit is 16B and it will send you in the wrong direction. So sorry.

It looks like I'm not going to make it.
This is only the 2nd ride I've missed.
I don't know when you'll be coming through Conway, but I'll be at Gusano's in Conway watching the NASCAR Bristol race if anyone wants to stop.

We had a good drive and visit to Blanchard Caverns on Saturday. There were 6 MINIs and 11 people. The drive up was very rainy but inside the cave was beautiful and the drive home was sunny. We had some good food at JoJo's on the White River along with the Corvette Club, who happened to be there also. On the drive home we were all put to the test to figure out what to do about a flat tire on a MINI when the hole in the tire is too big and the "Fix-a-Flat" all blows out the hole when you spray it in the tire. Thanks to Jim Baskin's air compressor, Greg Petersen's jack and Bud Reve's doughtnut in his non-S MINI we were able to get Horst and Betty Boehm back on the road to home. I believe a fun time was had by all, even with the flat.
