Please join us for a spring drive from Cumberland MD to Seneca Caverns WV and back.

When: Saturday, May 26 - Departure time is 10:00am.

Start: Greater Cumberland Airport.

Route: We will motor the twisty back roads of WV to Seneca Caverns (Riverton, WV), eat lunch, tour the caverns, then take a different route back to Cumberland, with a stop for ice cream.

Bring: Full tank of gas, camera, radio (set to 7/21), cash for lunch and cavern tour.

Event Fee: No fee for DCMM members. $5.00 per car for non-members. Pay at the event.

Cavern Tour Fee: $5.50 per person. Pay at the event.

A PDF file with route details, times, etc., will be posted after the first week in May.

Note: Since this run begins in western Maryland, some folks may want to come up Friday night.

Uh Oh..... Frostburg graduation!!! The closest rooms are Bedford, PA and Hancock, MD (where we got a room). But... We'll be there!

 

Casa De 1026 has a spare room, its an hour from the start point, but I'm sure that my parents won't mind having a friend spend the night (they are always complaining because I never have any friends over anyway)

 

Jeremy, the offer is very nice but... If its 130 miles from Baltimore to Cumberland, how do you figure it as an hour drive?

 

Drive fast Ok, 2 hour , still beats the 3-4 from Va

Peter just informed me that this event was going to have to be re-scheduled.
Why wasn't that important bit of info put in the OP??!!!
I just made a non-refundable reservation for the weekend posted. If the event is re-scheduled, I'm out 250 bucks.

Ok, due to circumstances, CooperCops, won't be able to lead/attend this run. We really have only one option and that is to continue as scheduled. Some of the club members have made non refundable reservations and are out $$$ if we don't do this, so I figured why not just do it. Now, who would like to lead?

 

Is this run still on, or are we canceling to a later date? The RSVP list only has 4 people total, which includes us.

 

I can't cancel...I'll go alone if I have to.....

 

It's still early, I'm sure more people will look closer at it next week. Myself included.

 

I am autoxing in Manassas that day... Yes I am actually driving to NOVA !!!!

 

Hey all, Unfortunately with Coopercops having to reschedule (oops, they forgot it was graduation day!) we are going to postpone this run till later in the season...
I really want to do this, but want more than just three of us going! So, unfortunately I am going to cancel this event. I apologize to those who reserved hotels, but I am afraid that the interest and leaders just aren't there for this time around.

 

Thats odd... I coul have sworn I was on the RSVP list... Oh well! What happened to Katie? I thought she was going too?

I'll have a good time in the country anyway!

Could we come up with something to fill in?, some casual meet, picnic, cookout or anything of that kind.

Or maybe a short run from Mclean to Mt Vernon via George Washington Pky.

I'll be moving to WV in June so I was really looking forward to an event out that way! I should have RSVP'ed, but what can I say? I'm somewhat of a procrastinator!

Definately count me in for this one and I'll be sure to RSVP as soon as I see the date rescheduled! I'm sure it'll be a little bit harder for me to attend all the MD events now that I'll be out in the boonies. :impatient

For those "stuck" with hotel reservations, I'm definately up for a drive on the 26th! (I'll most likely be in Inwood, WV anyway.) My friend and his new-to-him MINI should be free to come along as well, so we could certainly end up with a small, but fun, MINI run next weekend if others are interested.

 

I convinced them to give me a refund, so I won't be going...
But, there's no reason why y'all can't go....
