AMVIV registration now open
Well, we've finally got the costs nailed down, and the website updated.
Go to www.amviv.com/pay.htm to register for AMVIV 2006.
On that page, you can order and pay for t-shirts and hats, you can pay for the banquet dinner at Palace Station, and you can prepay for the park entries for Red Rock and the Valley of Fire.
The shirts and hats are $15 each, or you can get a combo of 1 shirt and a hat for $25.
The dinner is $35 a head, including tax and tip. There will be a cash bar in the room. I personally tried the food before we decided on the location (anyone who knows me can attest to the fact that I KNOW food) and we think is at least as good as the dinners at the past 2 AMVIVs (The Aladdin and Hofbrauhaus). The $35 price is good up until pre-registration closes sometime in early March. The price will be $40 at the door.
While I was at Palace checking out the food, I had a look at one of the recently refurbished Garden rooms ($59 per night on the group rate). They are quite nice now, and I would have no hesitation in booking one for my wife and myself. The room is a little smaller than a Tower room, and obviously the view can't compare, but they are excellent value.
The park entry fees are exactly what the parks charge. There is no discount for prepaying, but instead of about a minute per car to enter the park, it will just be a few seconds, and no-one has to mess around with change. It was something that a number of 2005 attendees requested as a "that would be nice" option.
So...register away!

After a question from an early registrant, I contacted Palace Station to ask about kids attending the banquet. Their answer is that children eat for 1/2 price, but their definition of a child is ages 3 to 11. I guess under 3 don't pay at all. The registration page www.AMVIV.com/pay.htm has had a child dinner line item added.
Also discovered today is some less happy news about the room rates. I wasn't involved with signing the room contract and only just became aware that the Courtyard/Garden room rate for the Friday and Saturday nights is $65 per night, not the $59 as posted on the AMVIV website. Thursday and Sunday nights are still $59 though, and $65 is an excellent price for a nice room in Las Vegas for a weekend night.
The Tower rooms are still $89 per night for any night of the AMVIV weekend. To book a room, follow these simple steps:
Call the Palace Station Reservations Office at 1-800-634-3101
Use reservation ID "PCIMIN6" or identify yourself as a Sin City MINI Club attendee
Reservations MUST be made by 01/31/2006 (January 31st) to receive the discounted rate.

I was trying to register last night and the "Add to cart" button next to "Registration for 1 car" doesn't add anything to the cart, it only opens up the page for the PayPal shopping cart.
All of the other "Add to cart" buttons work fine and add their respective items to the cart, but not the first one.
Anyone else having this problem?

The official "recommendation" is arrive thursday, the first run starts at 9am Friday. The Sin City MINI Club will be having a "Motor In" after the registration period on Thursday night, close to Palace Station, and everyone who is in town is welcome to attend. We did this last year and it was a lot of fun.
The schedule has been set, and should be up on the site in the next day or 2.

On the grounds that we had about 200 cars last year, we're guesstimating in the order of 300 cars this year.
Make sure to listen to Mark (SmoothIsQuik) and I answering AMVIV questions on this week's podcast of White Roof Radio (www.whiteroofradio.com) with DB, Todd and Gabe.

Hey Agro,
This will be my first AMVIV so I'm not trying to be a pest, but I'd like to see the final schedule before I register (& put in my PTO request). Any chance that will be posted soon? Or maybe I just cant' find it on the AMVIV site???
Specifically, I'm wondering what Sunday is like. Are there enough events on Sunday to warrant staying until Monday?
Thanks!
